Elite Trainer Box Sleeves & Dice

When did they start releasing sleeves and dice in the trainer boxes? I am trying to get a list together to see which sets I am missing and was hoping someone knew offhand. Thanks!

Since and including Plasma Blast. Only one without sleeves was Plasma Storm.

Don’t mean to necro this topic, but I have some more questions. I notice some sets seem to have multiple versions of trainer box dice. Does anyone have a complete list of all ETB dice variants?

Look into old Derium’s Pokemon videos on YouTube. I remember a couple years ago he had a series of opening every ETB released. Could be helpful

Normally I would just point you at an expert who collects that specific niche you’re asking for, but to my recollection no one here collects the stuff inside the ETB sets; they would either collect it sealed or open them for the packs inside.

Your best bet is to check unboxing videos on youtube for specific sets that you’re looking for; I do that all the time when Pokemon releases sets with “various” different boosters inside to see what’s the interior contents.

So true lol and PTP is the one with the BEST openings for this. So methodical. Shame he lost so much viewership!

@thundermoo, @nuttun, @pokebowl,

The issue I have with that is I can’t guarantee that these videos will have every dice variant for every ETB. I would have to watch tons of unboxing videos and just hope I saw them all unboxed. For all I know, a video doesn’t exist for every dice variant.

I have loads of ETB dice and sleeves kicking around. Never realized there were variants. Do you have a list to share of what you are aware of? I could perhaps take that and see if I have anything further, but it’d be nice to have a place to start from.

I’ve been on an ETB kick the past couple months it seems like they’ve been popping up more. I’ve still got to get set up for a photo of the complete set of sealed boxes… ended up having to fill a couple expensive gaps in my set I didn’t realize I had.

Just started. Don’t have too many dice yet. I can put together a list and an album this evening.

Like I always tell anyone trying to sell me anything “new” at a store, flea market, etc. “I’m good thank you, I have enough expensive hobbies already” lmao… BUT if you could figure out or point me to a nice beautiful way to encapsulate/store the dice to be displayed aesthetically, I might join you on this Pokemon dice variant mission lmao! Because I do find dice to be interesting “relics”. I always pick up a few when I travel, especially if I can pick up branded ones from different casinos and such on visits. As for the Pokemon dice, I legit keep them in ziploc bags along with all the pins and coins I get from collection boxes or ETBs.

@pokebowl,

I have a ultra pro cube full of loose ETB dice that looks pretty neat. I am going for a sealed collection though. Best I do as far as storage is flatting the bags the best I can and slipping them into a team bag. I have seen some pretty sweet dice displays for D&D. My friend had a wooden box with velvet lining with individually cut hols for each dice to fit in.

Did you ever get the album together? I see your other thread on codes. Unfortunately I have a pile of sleeves dice and markers that I have no idea what boxes they came from specifically.

I will try to get it put together tonight. I don’t have too much free time these days.

A list of the codes on the poison markers would help even if you don’t know where they originated. The dice will have to wait until I can snap some pics.
