So ive been seeing cards these english base set cards that have the 1st edition stamp but arent shadowless. Are these cards real or fake?
They could be foreign base sets~ Are you sure they’re english?

English 1st edition base cards are all shadowless, other than the obvious machamp

Here is a recent one I’ve seen. The Charmander obviously…
Its a fake.
All English 1st ed. base (with the holo Machamp being the exception) were printed as shadowless.
For example here is a “1st edition” haunter from my collection (also a fake):

Fake. I have a Pikachu that is the same (first one). They look very convincing (at least to me), but are definitely fake when you perform the light test on them. Another possibility is that they are a regular unlimited edition on which they’ve added the 1st edition stamp.
Either way, they are fake.
