@nichenostalgia , I think you can rest easy. I am not 100% positive, as I have never seen one that isn’t a sticker, but I am pretty sure all holos are supposed to be stickers.
The non-holos are just one card stock. But the prism holos have the 2 layer. Every graded copy I have ever seen has it, and every copy out of every collection I have seen has them. Including mine!
@quuador can maybe weigh in on this–I saw in the past that he has a set of them as well.
I also know cullers and 'M have sets. So does @smpratte . Scott, there aren’t any non-stickers in existence are there?
Edit:
Here is a live copy right here as an example. Now, we all know PSA has graded fake cards before, but the point stands that I’ve never seen a graded copy that isn’t a sticker, that has the layer sticking out.
All holo/prism cards are stickers in 1996 carddass parts 1-2 and 1997 carddass parts 3-4. All non-holo/prism cards are NOT stickers in both of those sets.
Now you ask, “so are they cards, or stickers?”. They were intended as a card set, since Carddass was the name of Bandai’s card series and Sealdass was the name of Bandai’s sticker series. Peelability for the Carddass holos was I guess just a feature that kids might think was cool. In the Sealdass sets every card can be peeled. Underneath any of these stickers is just blank/white.
So yeah those aren’t fake but I wouldn’t peel them, unless, well, that’s just what you want on your fridge lol.
The real question is if you peek them does the cards unviel to become another regular holo? Or does it become just cardboard and you have a sticker to be happy with?
@nichenostalgia, I’ve also noticed that misalignment issue on my set. I don’t think it’s actually a misalignment though. It’s just how some of the stickers age. The stickers are not on the same cardstock as the rest of the set. They’re on really flexible paper that you’d expect to see stickers on. My guess is that they were flexed or curved and it shifted the sticker slightly. Some of mine have it and some don’t.
