I know this card is notorious here. I bought it back in 2018 not knowing it was a fake signature. I’m here to learn more on the history of it and what to do with it. Thought about selling it with the warning of it being fake but it is also a good conversation piece.

Welcome to the forum! Yeah we hate them just as much if not more than anyone else. Not much history other than the 2020 boom bringing more team rocket type figures. Reccomend that you hold on to it, as autographs (especially fakes) are in a bad place right now.

Thanks for the welcome! I was so disappointed when I found out it was fake. I hate the card but at the same time like it cause it is a “special” card lol.

It really is a shame that autos can so easily be faked today, huh?
BUT, this is an interesting discussion to have from time to time in the hobby, and I also hope that it doesn’t sour your love for collecting enough to drive you away. We’d love to see you around from time to time, at least.

It is a shame that autopens are a thing. It hasn’t stopped my drive for collecting at all. Just taught me to be more cautious on big purchases and to make sure everything is legit to the best of my ability. Like I’ve stated it stinks that it’s fake but it is a piece of history per se.

It does match the ds perfectly. Crazy to see where the signature came from and to see that it matches it.

Would PSA not be able to compensate for any $$ loss?
Or would they not be able to because it seemed legit with the understanding of the autograph at the time?
PSA’s financial guarantee does not apply to autographs

I don’t know of PSA even claims the card anymore. I ran the cert number on the app and it comes up with a different card. Unless the dna cert numbers are different than graded cert numbers
I wouldnt sell it. Itd just end up being resold as a real one.
