What do you guys think?
Is this just a reslab?
The barcode extends beyond the “A” whereas it doesn’t in the other. This what mine graded two months ago looks like.
The clearest difference between the two labels is the font in 2018
Fake
PSA scan
That label looks very off to me. Can see differences in the Rs and Ss, spacing is off, red outside border is incorrect as well.
That one scammer from China strikes again…
PSA update the images on their site after re-slabs. At least, that’s been my experience.
The top barcode is incorrect… Would be interesting to see if it’s unique to this fake slab.
Does PWCC have any kind of authenticity review?
My guess is that the supposed fake slab (left) was made in the same factory that the legitimate slab (right) was made in.
But while the material may be the same, notice how the “slots” are extra noticeable on the left slab. This was the smoking gun on the fake slabs coming out of China. The backs look very different. If this was the same group out of China, they may have gotten better at addressing the original issue, but have yet to make a perfect label.
An incredibly convincing fake.
Edit: The QR code looks different from the original copy, but it does lead to the correct webpage.
The QR code doesn’t match either.
But is the card fake too or just the label?
@Dirge
For the PWCC scan, the card appears contrast-rich and saturated while the case is fairly neutral, while the PSA scan has an overall warmer tone but the card isn’t nearly as saturated. I believe the card is forged as well
While it isn’t an obvious answer like the PSA case, I would think that if the person submitting this to PWCC was practicing deception for profit they’re not going try to making up for it by inserting a very expensive real card
Fake
PSA scan
Is it not PWCC’s job to make sure these are legit?
Label doesn’t even have the blue ink thing that PSA has, not to mention the font being wrong.
Although the QR code doesn’t look correct when compared to the real copy, it does lead to the correct webpage.
It’s literally just one of the fake slabs you can get from sites like Etsy. You can “customize” the bottom corner embossing which usually means they just ask them to make it look like a real slab. It has the notches around it that are used to clip it shut. Nothing particularly new about this style of fake.
Break out the popcorn…
Great catch! If you’re not looking at it carefully, it’s honestly really easy to miss. Looks like PWCC took down the listing and its history
The top one doesn’t have the blue hue of psa on the label. That says fake to me but there are others here a lot more knowledgeable than me
