Foreign WotC Promos

Hello, is there a reliable source or website and database that’ll tell me if they made a certain set in a language, for example I want to know which wizards of the coast promos were made in different languages (German Italian French etc etc) Is there a way to find that type of information ?

For sets I’ve created this thread: Sets and Languages: Overview list.

That’s unfortunately a bit trickier, since WotC era promos are some of the hardest to find cards in foreign languages. I for example collect Pikachu in all languages, and have yet to find the German and Spanish Flying/Surfing Pikachu promos (for German the Flug-Pikachu variant, not the common Fliegendes Pikachu), which I’ve only seen twice each in ~8 years time. And I know a few other single Pokémon collectors who are also missing just some of the foreign WotC era promos.

But if you want to know which languages a specific WotC era promo was released in, I can see what I could find.

Well for just the WotC era itself there made several of them in multiple languages, but the database to find them is hard, hell like the birthday Pikachu I know found out yesterday it was made in French as well, as the mewtwo promo in French the name was way way off same with the dragonite one. If you can tell me which Pikachu ones were made that’ll help my list a lot😂 I know you probably have all the foreign WotC pikachus

Unfortunately I don’t have all the foreign WotC Pikachu yet, as I’m missing two German and two Spanish WotC era Pikachu promos, as well as a Japanese version of the Ivy Pikachu artwork.

But I can provide you with a list of languages/variations of each Pikachu promo. (I’ve only included reprints from the WotC era. There are also reprints of the promo artworks from later eras (e.g. Birthday Pikachu in the Celebrations set), which I haven’t added to the list below.)

And one last thing before I end the promo thread

What about modern promos? You know the black white era- SWSH era of promos, is there a database to show if a tin was made in French or German or is it like the WotC era where it’s still hard to find info on it

Thank you for the previous replies!

I think that the tins are pretty standardized. Any tin that comes out in the US also comes out in Europe I believe. Although, I think European tins are actually slightly different sizes and different number of packs inside.

Hi … I was writing about WoTC Promo cards launched in Spanish.

Until I know, some that were launched in Spanish are:

  • Electabuzz (2)
  • Mewtwo (3)
  • Pikachu (4)
  • Dragonite (5)
  • Arcanine (6)
  • Mew (8)
  • Mew (9)
  • Mewtwo (14)
  • Psyduck (20)
  • Moltres (21)
  • Articuno (22)
  • Zapdos (23)
  • Pikachu Volador (25)
  • Pikachu [Snap] (26)
  • Pikachu Surfista (28)
  • Hitmontop (37)
  • Misdreavus (39)

EXTRA: Meowth (10) was launched in Spanish but not the card itself. The card was in English but it came with a type of card that has the translation to Spanish. I only found it in really bad quality. As you can see there, in the card, it says Puño-gato (Cat Punch) but the rest of the card is hard to detect due to the quality of the image
