Hey everyone! Today I’m going to Tcgtopia2 in Phoenix, AZ. It’s around 75 booths with a seemingly large emphasis on Pokemon. I’m so excited and kind of nervous as I’ve never been to one of these before. I’m bringing stuff for the trade night tonight and I’m bringing a family member with me. If I find anything I’ll post here with what I’m bringing home. Also if anyone else is in the area it runs from 10am-6pm today, with trade night afterwards, and then 9am-5pm tomorrow. Just one thing to keep in mind - vendors usually offer about 70% cash and 80% trade value, so don’t be surprised if you can’t get market value for your stuff. Have fun!

I’ve been watching a lot of vendor POV videos on YouTube this year so I won’t be surprised. If anything I think it’s pretty good since you don’t have to put up with anything involving the seller aspect online and it’s instant.

I used to live here, but I moved away due to the heat. I think the last summer I spent here it got up to 118 F so I noped out of here.
Oh even more wow i didn’t know that! Well, I definitely haven’t heard of a better reason to leave haha.
I also will be leaving within a couple yrs, and I won’t be missing summers!

is this mint or something? you can get these for like $3 + fees on mercari jp
edit: i don’t mean to be rude. i’m genuinely curious. there is a big disparity between mint and a $3 HP copy. It’s also not the most well known promo out there if you aren’t deep into jp promos.
I didn’t pay 55 but also I’ve had a bad time trying to get these that are not ridled with whitening and bends. I assume it’s due to the packaging these come in. I’ve been watching them over the last couple of years (on ebay and us Mercari)

Wow nice haul man. Absolutely love that Charizard from 151, and Mew from PF. I’ve always wanted to go to one of these.
My haul from day 2! There was also a raffle and I won the Psyduck and Hello Kitty cards! Overall had a great time and learned that this will be a quarterly event, so I’ll be back in June!

Really cool to see all your pick ups. We don’t have card shows over here so I’m quite jealous. Did you find the sellers open to negotiate on prices or did you have to pay sticker mostly?

I negotiated everything I purchased. I don’t think I paid sticker price for anything, but it seems like it’s built that way. Either they’re asking over market and they bring it down for you, or they’re buying at 70 percent and then sell just under market and still profit. At least that was my experience. Hopefully my first experience isn’t just my best to come though.
