Graded Jumbo Price Check

Hey guys and gals of E4.

I recently graded some Jumbos (as my favourite artwork card also got a Jumbo).

I sent in a bunch hoping one would get a 10, but got a nice surprise; 4/5 got 10’s! Noting I went through 26 cards to pick the best 5. Jumbos are so very easy to damage, especially considering how they are packaged.

In my haste to see if there was a market for these, I put one up for sale on an Aussie FB page. It sold practically instantly with many people messaging me about more. Which leads me to the expertise here. Can you tell me what you think is a fair price for one of these Jumbos in PSA 10?

Many thanks in advance!

I’m sure it is a pretty penny for it. Since jumbo cards are hard to get 10s and since it is English even more rare.

But that art work is so beautiful. One of the best Venusaur art work I seen.
Make me want to get it.

I’d say min. of $100. I would put it up for $225-250/OBO.
Personally I’d be happy with $125-150.

how much does it cost to send in Jumbos and do you submit them in toploaders?

I didn’t even know this was a thing… Now I need to send mine in!

I submitted in October when there wasn’t a monthly special so it end up costing me $18 each plus $55 return postage.

I submit the cards in 6x9 toploaders with A5 clear folio sheets used as sleeves.

Where can I buy the sheets?

$200-$250AUD range, also I would put in you resume that you are 80% success rate in grading English jumbos in a 10.

That rate is actually 83% haha

What you’re chasing isn’t anything special;

I trim the sides so they fit in a toploader =)

Wow, this is the first new type Jumbo card I have ever seen been graded! Up until now, I had only seen the baby jumbo cards from the box topper collection! What is the casing like? Is it thick plastic like the smaller regular cards? Or is it a different material altogether?

It’s hard to describe. The casing is fantastic, measuring around 8-9mm (regular cases being around 5mm).

It’s very stiff and so well protected I’d be happy to mail out in a straight bubble mailer with a little bubble wrap.

You probably can’t see it, but the card is in a clear plastic sleeve inside the slab too.

pokesyndicate will be happy that PSA are sleeving cards then haha.

So their no toploader rule then doesn’t apply with the jumbos? I don’t think I have ever seen card saver 1 equivalents that large, so I guess toploader would be the only way to go.

Well, yeah. I couldn’t find a card saver big enough so they only way to send them in protected was with giant toploaders.

I’m guessing it’s like a huge slab of plastic then! Haha! Nope, can’t really tell it’s in a sleeve at all to be honest.
The one thing that would bug me is the fact they didn’t resize the labels to match the new sized cases! :joy:
Apart from that (I am very fussy!), it’s really cool.
i have an old WOTC celebi Japanese jumbo promo, but mines just been kept in a frame for years…

It’s definitely large, but not out of proportion. I think it looks really good. When I’m home I’ll take some better pics to share.

It feels very secure in the slab, would take a lot of effort to break it.

Did you ask SilverSnorlax204? He has graded Jumbos in the past (I think he collects them). Maybe he can give you a price estimate.

I actually was thinking about this the other day. Graded Jumbos (and booster packs, to some extent) are great, but haven’t gained as much popularity as graded cards. Maybe the high grading fees and general lack of specials for packs and Jumbos turns people off.

Isn’t $18? Supersized Cards (over 3-1/2" x 5-1/8")

Yeah, and $14 for packs iirc. PSA offers a grading special for Jumbos and packs maybe once or twice all year though. Doesn’t help that shipping is $18 minimum as well lol.
