Hello everyone,

This post serves to educate people on the many variants of Base Set Vulpix 68/102. There are a total of six variants of this card, outlined below. I’m intentionally leaving out stamp thickness variations because there is already a guide for those here.

1st Edition
Note: This card incorrectly has Vulpix’s health as “HP 50” instead of “50 HP”.

1st Edition - Blue Ink Stain
Note: This card incorrectly has Vulpix’s health as “HP 50” instead of “50 HP”. It also has a blue ink stain on it.

Shadowless
Note: This card incorrectly has Vulpix’s health as “HP 50” instead of “50 HP”.

Shadowless - Blue Ink Stain
Note: This card incorrectly has Vulpix’s health as “HP 50” instead of “50 HP”. It also has a blue ink stain on it.

Unlimited
Note: This card incorrectly has Vulpix’s health as “HP 50” instead of “50 HP”.

Unlimited - 50 HP (1999-2000)
Note: The 1999-2000 print run finally corrected Vulpix’s health to be “50 HP”.

Do you include misprinted variations? If yes, you’re missing the blue-butt Vulpix, which occurs on both 1st edition and Shadowless prints:
