So I’m heading to Italy in a few weeks and I’m although I’m not expecting Pokemon to be as big as it is in Japan or the US, I was wondering if there is anything I shouldn’t miss. Maybe a store/event or anything?
Pokemon Go: is Mr. Mime easy to find or am I gonna have to have my app open while touring the Vatican? Lol
All jokes aside, any suggestions would be great. Again, nothing big just wondering if there is anything like merchandise or something I shouldn’t miss.
P.S. Thinking of doing a thread of Pokemon and Traveling
Ahaha I would call Arita everyday if only was possible
Btw, can you tell me the exact period, or a period range you will come here?
There are no Pokemon Centers or any type of Pokemon shop here. You have to be lucky enough to come in the period of a big Comicon to see something nice at least…
Lucca Comics, or Etna Comics i.e.
And sorry, I dont know about MrMime, I do not play PGO
I was in rome last year. Me and the GF looked all over the city for cards and gameshops. We seriously couldnt find a single place! A few people even looked at us with crazy eyes when we asked if they knew about pokemon or had any pokemon cards
Welcome to Europe lol, we used to have one card shop in my city (NL) during the NEO era of Pokémon that sold cards in a binder.
Which simulteanously offered a place for people to play the game. As far as i know that shop went under, the one that replaced it solely focused on Yu-gi-Oh and Magic, mainly magic i think, the only product of pokemon they sell is maybe a binder and a few current set boosters for 6€ a pack.
It’s a big shame honestly cause shopping around is always so much more fun than buying things online, but with the power of the internet it is hard for these shops to stay afloat…
We do have a really kick-ass Retro game shop though!
You are not so lucky mate:
Torino Comics (Turin) April 21-23
Napoli Comicon (Naples) April/May 28-1
Etna Comics (Catania) June 1-4
RiminiComix (Rimini) July 20-23
Lucca Comics and games (Lucca) November 1-5
These are the largest fairs along with the last one based in Milan.
If I come across to something similar Ill let you know
Don’t know much about foreign cards or buying in other countries, but I just came to Berlin for a few days, and they have 20 Euro HGSS Legendary Dog Tins here in German at a Media Markt I went to. Thought that was interesting, maybe department stores there could have old sealed product?
Just got back from a 10 day trip to Italy. Visited Rome, Venice, and Florence. Rome doesn’t hardly have any shops within the city but if you have access to the money to travel outside of the main touristy areas you can find some shops that were on the map for me but I couldn’t get to them. Venice didn’t have anything obviously. Florence has a few shops - was able to make it to one shop there and it was overpriced - but such is expected of Italian goods in a busy area.
I appreciate your help! What’s funny is that we were supposed to be in Italy during the event Arita was over there and then we had to move our vacation to May. I can’t be greedy tho, at least I had the opportunity to see him here in Florida lol . Again, thanks for checking for these events !
Located in Tilburg city in the Netherlands.
Used to be called Foregames, now Nedgame probably because it couldn’t stay afloat independently, still sells Dreamcast/N64/Game boy color and advance/xbox/playstation 2 lots of merchandise like Pokemon plushes, amiibo’s general stattue’s or other game related items.
Coincidentally i was gifted this strong lad from there by family for Easter.
Have fun on your trip btw!
Italy is a beautiful country and i definitely recommend anyone who hasn’t been there to visit sometime.
although if you somehow end up in Tuscany never ever order Tuscan bread at a bakery because the normal bread is out of stock
