Help for a PSA international 🌍 grading from Italy

Hi guys

be patient because this is my first time asking for some help here hahaha, so in case I’ve done something wrong just let me now!

That asaide, I would like to know if there is someone that has already done a PSA graing order from Italy because I would like to grade myself going with my first little order. I almost understood everything about the process but I would like to better understand what to do with the taxes of import/export (Tasse doganali) and if there are any, I would like to have no surprise that translate in extra costs.

Many thanks to everyone who would like to help me out

Your :spaghetti: :rocket: grunt.

I am from EU. I don’t grade but I would recommend this Article by @haggiscollects, since I would use it as a reference if I would ever want to grade. I think it’s super informative and very through for PSA submissions from EU. Hope this helps.

Cheers!

For every item coming into the European Union you have to pay taxes.
VAT which is for most countries around 20% (of the psa fees + shipping) and sometimes some import taxes (most times 5 %)

You will be charged for them because Fedex has to.
So count on 25% payment you have to make over the total PSA is charging you and you should be fine.

so if PSA charges you $1000 total, you will get charged 250 on taxes/import.

Does PSA state the value of the cost of your order or the value of your cards?
I was always afraid they would state the value of the cards, but if it is just the order costs it would make sense!

They state that just the grading fees cost, so you will have to pay taxes based on the grading fees and not on the cards value. Also looks like it’s completely insured up to 100k $ so in my opinion that’s really good. I am from Spain where import taxes are 21% (Similar to Italy and any other country on Europe) and just paying fees on the grading costs helps a lot

Perfect, this is what I was searching for. Yesterday I’ve found it but it was a little foggy, now that I’ve heard it from you it makes all sense. Thanks guys

I have also sent you a DM on Instagram, check it when you can

Value of the costs ( not the value of your cards)
Costs are grading fees + shipping.

You pay 21% on grading costs + shipping.

Insurance is covered by PSA up to the value you have filed the order for.
So if you send a Base Charizard in a bulk order and paid $15 grading.
and it’s graded a 10 and you don’t get upcharged, You will get only 199 dollar paid as insurance.

I see, there is no problem while I don’t submit underdeclaring value to get a cheaper tier then right? Thanks for your answer
