Hey E4, huge fan of the hgss prime and legend period in the tcg, having grown up with it and was wondering if anyone had any impressive collections of psa primes/legends/ and promos, japanese or English? Love simply looking at these cards and looking to expand my psa collection myself so any contribution appreciated

Hey! i’ve been collecting primes for a couple months now, im only missing 6 Gem mint non promo primes, you can see them on my Instagram; i also collect Lv.x’s and Ex’s.
If you’re going for primes, i feel like its the right time, they are still kinda affodable compared to anything else in Pokemon, slowly getting vintage, and insanely eye appealing cards!

Glad to see some appreciation for primes! They actually don’t seem like very easy grades, out of like 30 primes I own (most pulled by myself 10 years ago and put into a sleeve immediately) only 2 are completely flawless. I’ll probably make a collection thread to show off my gen 4 stuff one day but here’s a sample of some of my favorites:

For sure man, really difficult to grade, especially because of that border they have. Definitely my favourite artworks and designs in the hobby aha. Love the espeon and umbreon primes, have had mine sitting in sleeves in my binder for 10 years lmao, need to get them graded. I think I got mine in some special deck box collection which was insane value for money at the time. Wish I could go back to these times haha

Hope you enjoy them. I collect every era. I still need to add videos for black and white era, X and y era, and sword and shield. I love Primes tho. Ive noticed not a ton of collectors like them or they are not talked about often. My favorites are Umbreon, Espeon, Gengar, Mew, Tyranitar, and The Starter trio

I remember when HGSS came out and I found out the Primes were easier to pull than Lv. Xs. As a kid it felt great to get those hit cards more than once every 18 packs. They look nice in a set together but honestly I think they’re pretty forgettable compared to the real chase cards, the LEGENDs. These are some of the craziest artworks in the hobby and were the first true full art cards. I would rather collect them than the Primes but I can’t deny that a binder of all the Primes together has a nice look to it. With how relatively cheap Prime cards are you’re getting a lot of cool Johto Pokémon for not much – solid collectibles.
