Hey,I just got back into collecting and I’m searching for cards on ebay and I noticed this. The cert number was blurred out. Why do sellers do this?
I feel like at best it’s just them being paranoid that it will be used to fake a psa label (which doesn’t happen). At worst, it’s stolen.
It’s #shadecity
Don’t support them or the practice
The cert number allows you to look up the card and verify that its legit
I would avoid sellers who do this

Ok. It just seems wierd. I can easily look up the cert number. Also the prices were 5 times the last 10 sales. I have no problem with anybody’s prices but that seemed like a motive also.
It’s also common technique by flippers, so you can’t look at previously sold cards and see how cheap that exact copy sold within the last month or two.
Every time I see one blurred.
There is no legitimate reason to cover the cert number.
Even the excuse of worrying about someone stealing an image is ironic and invalid. The cert number is what authenticates the card and proves ownership/provenance.
Exactly this. Don’t want you to look up previous sales price. Just stupid.
