Hello, I really love collecting the ex Series cards and am about to finish my gold star set. After I complete my PSA 9 set (which will be in Dec. 2018 on the current track), I am looking to buy some other ex series cards. So besides gold stars and ex PSA 10s, what are some of the rarer or more expensive cards from this era. (I am only focusing on English singles currently) Thanks so much for you help
Just for clarification before I dive into this question too deep, you don’t want us to list any ultra rares at all? “besides gold stars and psa 10 exs” really eliminates almost all the high-end cards. Do you just want cards above a certain price point?
I think the most an ADV ex series card has sold for would be the PSA 10 Suicune ex which is about $600.
The next one from there is Charizard ex.
After that you’d have all the TRR exs.
Then everything else is in the same ballpark for PSA 10s.
Non-GS/ex? I can think of EX Dragon Charizard, SR Here Comes Team Rocket, popular Delta Species holos (Zard, Eeveelutions, etc.). If you’re open to any cards released during the era and not just from boxes, there’s a bunch of promos like Tropical Tidal Wave, the UK Pokeball stamp starters, etc. The king of the era would be Stadium Challenge Deoxys, which commands $1K+ ungraded NM, but is so obscure that it has almost no market.
To clarify, I am trying to find cards from that era that are not GS or ex PSA 10, yet still have sold for $100. So far, the list includes
Charizard from Crystal Guardian
Stadium Metang
SR Here Comes Team Rocket
European POP 3rd gen. starter
Charizard from EX Dragon
Tropical Tidal Wave
Championship Arena (Does anyone know what the value of this would be?)
Stadium Deoxys
Depending on condition, the black star e-league promo Torchic, Treecko and Mudkip can fetch ~$100 a piece as well.
-Charizard ex power keepers psa 10
-Psa 10 Theme deck cosmos holo variants of some ex sets, e.g. ho-oh and lugia from unseen forces
-Some Psa 10 box toppers from ex boxes, e.g. Azumarill box topper from delta species

Mew pop 5 in psa 10 is only pop 1 
I can put you in contact with a guy that has stadium challenge metang and deoxys, as well as championship arena. They’re already graded. Deoxys and the stadium are graded 9 and the metang is a 10.
As for the original question, I bet a card most people overlook that’s expensive in the ex era is rev holo TV Reporter from ex dragon.

That’s a hard one to find!
Right?! Everyone always forgets about it lol. It’s almost like an error version though, so it stuck in my head. It’s kinda hard to believe it happened, but it’s one of those things where you’re kinda glad it did happen at this point in time. Gives the set one more unique aspect to it.
Truly a major error if the Pokemon company forgets to print one card as reverse holo during first print runs, can’t think of any other set having similar issues like EX Dragon.

I think Reverse TV Reporter is a tough one though just because of the content of the card. Having that error on a trainer card limited a lot of the potential, and individuals looking to purchase that card often only collect errors or are going for master sets. There’s no way anyone will spend $3k on the PSA 9 that has been listed forever. It’s just not that desirable. That being said, I think a PSA 8 would fetch over $100.

I have decided to try and complete the Nintendo Black Star Promo set in PSA 9. I know that many of these card sell for a lot sell that $100 in PSA 9, but other like Championship Arena are pretty pricey so it should balance out. The complete set is roughly 50 cards, so all of them will fit in a large shadow box. Thanks for all your helps guys!
