Hey I was considering if I were to buy a blister pack (Like with a single booster) what ways are there to protect it from bends in the cardboard, the glue coming undone or just general scratches? I see a lot of ways to protect booster packs but not so much blister packs so it would be great to find some way to help ensure they don’t end up looking all creased up by accident even.
I’ve had the same concerns as you about blister packs. I had my first Ed base trio just sitting in a drawer without any protection for years and it really bothered me. So after some research of my own, like you, I found there really isn’t much out there for blisters. But this is what I chose to go with. I bought some 6x9 soft sleeves and toploaders for the single pack blister. Placed it in the sleeve then the toploader - like a card😂 then placed some tape over the opening of the toploader to keep everything snug. (Some may disagree with me about the tape.) but it has worked great for me, and I’ve also done the same with the 3 pack blisters with 8x10 sleeves and toploaders. See the attached pics. Hope this helps!
@jackr2020 , Very nice. Not the prettiest but certainly a good way for protection. I probably gonna do some research if there any other weird sized protectors that could fit them more snuggly. If not your idea would work thanks for the response!
Yep I would agree, it’s not the prettiest for display lol. But my main goal is storage and protection so it gets the job done for me. As for fitting “snuggly,” the top loaders do hold them pretty tight so there isn’t any sliding around.
A friend of mine is starting a blister pack display. Its actually really neat. If i can link it i will, but i need to read rules first. Anyway its not out for a month but im sure once its released youll hear about it
I own some of his custom cases and they are definitely very nice and recommended. Maybe on the pricy side for protection but compared to other High end acrylic cases the price and quality are really good.
To the op I do recommend getting some Acrylic cases for blisters and packs that are really special to you and you plan to keep them for a long long time. For maybe more common ones I use a well fitting ziplock bag and a piece of comic book cardboard to keep it rigid.
I have a good amount of blisters, and I don’t protect them (but I also don’t display them – mostly so that I don’t get tempted to open them lol). If you’re not displaying them, you don’t really need protection IMO. Just monitor humidity levels to make sure it doesn’t get too dry, and you should be fine. I try to keep rooms with cards/blisters in them at between 40%-60% humidity. In my experience, above 75% humidity can warp cards and very low air moisture levels can cause glue to dry out – so I think 40%-60% is a happy medium.
maybe try something like a large team bag? you can put cardboard at the back if needing extra support. pop the blister in, seal it and store/display. This will stop dust, scratches and bends.
