How does PSA grade print lines like this?

Have a bunch of Japanese cards in very nice shape, no edge wear and no scratches on the front/holo, but a handful of them have super thin printlines (nearly invisible unless looking from just the right angle) and occasional hairline scratches along the back of the card. I don’t have a ton of experience grading old back japanese cards, was just curious how strict PSA is on flaws like this? Would multiple thin printlines bump the card down multiple grades? Thanks!

Sorry I can’t help you with your question since I’ve never graded myself before. I’m just curious if those are Vending Series cards by any chance? Some of mine have that too, so I’d be interested aswell.

No it’s a Neo set holo, but the lines seem to be fairly common with all of the old back Japanese cards that I’ve seen!

Ahh alright. Yeah some of my other oldbacks also have those. You’re right, it seems like generally they’re kinda prone to those lines even when being otherwise mint.

That’s one giant fingerprint… Dammit

jk.

Fixed print lines may affect the surface grade, but the lines on your card can only be seen from a certain angle, they’re on the back and considering PSA’s “… printing imperfection if it doesn’t impair the overall appeal of the card” approach. So, you should be OK.

Doubt you will lose any or many surface points for those. Should be fine
