How to make inventory more easy?

I was wondering how everyone keeps their inventory up to date and how does it give you a nice overview?

All things i want to keep inventory of:

  • Graded cards
  • Sealed collection
  • Card that still need to be graded
  • ā€¦

I know for psa cards the psa set registry is a nice tool. But for a good overview of everything i still use numbers which is a little bit basic as it is difficult to insert images that arenā€™t massive in size.

How do you handle this?
Some template could always help some people out :v:

I use ms excel. It does the job for me. Im sure there are many other tools e4 members could recommend!

For complete sets and all I usually import a spreadhseet already online or copy/paste the card data from online so i dont have to manually enter it

Is this also available for the japanese cards?

Excel.

Try to find some version that works for you. It can be a lot of work, especially initially for set-up, but then is worth it in the end to be organized with your collection.

Okay guys, I promise Iā€™m not a shill for this site. Iā€™ll repeat once more: I am not affiliated with this website in any way, shape, or form, but this is by far the best site for managing Pokemon TCG inventory among any app/website/spreadsheet that Iā€™ve used!

www.tcgcollector.com

Some quick features:

1. Checklists/Adding Cards (done right!)

  • Can select card variant (1st ed. shadowless, unlimited, etc.), language, condition of card
  • Can handle multiple variants of the same card
  • Icon will turn orange if you own the card in ā€œmintā€ condition, otherwise itā€™s blue

2. Collection progress

(Ignore my progressā€¦ still working on itemizing my cards)

3. Details and images for every card

4. Filters. SO MANY FILTERS!

There are more filters and features available, but I didnā€™t want to make this post too long. Anyways, this is a great resource for people like me who focus on collecting a single Pokemon or on a specific illustrator.

The developer is super active and the latest Cosmic Eclipse set has already been added. Tons of great features in the works as well. You can go here to see what heā€™s working on next: github.com/egonolieux/tcgcollector/issues
Again, I promise I have 0 affiliation with this site, but I just had to give it a shoutout because it is AMAZING in my books.

God bless this guy. Awesome spreadsheet!

Microsoft Access is much better than Excel for keeping inventory, but has a learning curve.

You basically just take the htmlview parameter off the end of the link, then you have the option to file ā†’ save or download.

Try this link: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/11XJunqzRFDATe9Y-dO2oyEQQAAKwzcHcW3K1DwMhGlE

I personally use Excel as well (locally, and I make a copy to Google Drive every once in a while). Here is for example my Pikachu collection checklist, and here a list of ALL 10,000+ non-duplicated PokƩmon cards and sealed products I own (ordered by release date) - and yes, both are just updated before I made this post.

I also have around 9,000+ duplicated cards I still have to sit down for and organize / sell one dayā€¦

Greetz,
Quuador

I hate excel because I think its inefficient/un-intuitive so I use the collector app on my phone for sets. For PSA cards Iā€™ve just got a word doc that I can search for a specific card.

The more you learn about excel the more efficient and intuitive it gets

LOL. I am not in cahoots with this website. But heres a 30 minute PowerPoint Presentation on it.

@stibs, Nothing worse than seeing someoneā€™s passion project get no love.

dont let the hate stop you.

You seem bitter about something, care to talk about it?

Funny how I canā€™t share something other than a spreadsheet without getting accused of shilling.

The secret to make a good inventory of your collectionā€¦ is to begin early when you start your collection

I personnaly started my inventory in 2012 with MS Excel.
I have a file with a lot of tabs for each expansion/set/collection or list of promos, etc. with the detailed condition of each card.
I have to admit that I didnā€™t make an inventory for all the things that are not cards, this was a big mistakeā€¦

So if you didnā€™t start yet, do it now.
The more you wait, the more it will be difficult to make it
