I made a video on the contents of the FPO cards' barcodes

This may have been covered in other topics, but I was curious what is on the vertical stripe of data on FPO cards. It seemed to me that it must be different than the normal Expedition version, since many of them lack a vertical stripe.

I had some free time the last few weeks so finally put together a video on this topic before I send my FPO cards for grading.

There’s a bit of intro info for those who aren’t familiar with FPO. If you are in a hurry you can skip to 5:08 to find out :slight_smile:

Neat information. I hope that Ampharos didnt get damaged in the scanning process, Im very jealous of it.

Thanks, I think they should be ok since they were sleeved. They were less than pristine copies to begin with, so I’m ok to do it in the name of science lol.

Thanks for sharing this. FPO cards were always mysterious for me. I never thought I’ll be able to see their content until now.
Something I found very interesting is that the ID in the e-Viewer does not match with the card scanned (Ampharos). It belongs to Rapidash from Base Expansion Pack

About e-Viewer data, it seems there’re no differences between FPO and Rapidash (E1) … And Large Dot Code application is the same (Make a Dash!)

Also, I didn’t know that FPO Manhole had Pokémon Occidental back and worked only in Occidental e-Reader (unlike Pokémon FPO e-cards) … That’s new for me!!!

@viridian Something that is not clear for me is about the back of Pokémon FPO e-cards. Is it the one that uses in International expansions or is the New Japanese one???

@pfm Thanks for the tag!!!

Yes, in the video I noted the strange fact that all the FPO cards have Rapidash in their data! I supposed they just picked a random Japanese Base Expansion Pack card. Probably they just needed one with both a large and small dot code to test both functionalities. Rapidash also has the advantage of having a ‘minigame’ without needing extra cards to scan, so that may have contributed to making it the mockup candidate.

And to answer your other question, the FPO cards have the English card back. They look like normal English cards except their dot codes are in Japanese! Let me know if you get any other questions.
