At the end of the day today, as my significant other and I sat down to unwind from our respective occupations, she placed a mini pokemon tin on the table. It was out of the blue. We have been together 5 years and never before has she done such a thing!
I opened it up and it had two booster packs in it… One pack happened to be evolutions! (of which I passively have roughly 95% of the set solely from pulling cards, and I haven’t chased any of them for months). I cracked the pack open and would you believe I pulled a full art mega ex pidgeot being the ONLY mega ex full art I didn’t have yet?!? I couldn’t imagine pulling it if I bought an entire booster box or maybe two!
Right now 1000 people couldn’t convince me that the power of love wasn’t infused into that pack! The centering is immaculate and no rear chipping to be seen.
This 5 to 10 dollar card means more to me than a lot of 4 figure cards that I have in my collection!

I had a meaningful, exciting and genuine Pokémon experience tonight!
I would love to hear if anyone has similar stories of fantastic luck or fluke pulls or frankly,anything that is meaningful to them when it comes to personal connections or sentimental cards!

My girlfriend has bought me two packs in the years we’ve been together. She surprised me with the first one on what had been a pretty crazy day. Unbroken Bonds pack, pulled a Gold Rare Beast Bringer. I will cherish that card forever.

3ish years ago I bought a half full 72 count box of fossil long packs. At the time of buying it I needed just two holos to complete fossil; gengar and magneton. My buddy that rented a room from me was there when I got home with the box, and him seeing everything I bought got his curiosity going about what he had in his old collection, so he went to his parents and got it. I asked him if he had either of the two holos I needed to complete fossil and he had a gengar, which he super nicely gave to me! So we then each opened up a fossil pack and low and behold I pulled the holo megneton I needed! FOSSIL COMPLETE! It was probably the sweetest pack opening I’ve had since returning to collecting! I ended up grading it 2 years later, and it got a ten!

That is a wonderful story! Congratulations on your pull and more importantly congratulations on finding someone so awesome to be with! It is such a nice thing to be with someone that cherishes and respects you and your hobbies and from one person who has that to another. Cheers!
Thanks @danakinzero! It wasn’t always that way with her view of this hobby but I think she has come to understand what it really means to me and that has allowed her to enjoy it too!
we’re in the middle of moving so I don’t want to dilute it with a hectic time haha
