1st edition base just for the sex appeal
None because it limits the supply and boxes will one day disappear forever
Jk first edition base please
Steam Siege
Something EX era but in Japanese. The art on many of the cards, even common/uncommon, is just gorgeous. Plus, I don’t know the sets as well as I know the typical WOTC stuff so it would make for more of a surprise.
Ex deoxys with a guaranteed rayquaza gold star. Lol
Base 1st. Only one I haven’t gotten to open though I have opened a few packs.
Non Pokemon I would say alpha to get to experience that. I have recollection of my cousins playing some magic in early to mid 90’s and some of the artwork from A/B/U looks familiar to me. I assume most of what my friends had were U/revised but they may have had some A/B.
Base unlimited, and in the last packs, finally get my Charizard and Venusaur. Then go into school the next day and be king of the playground.
Skyridge!!
1st edition Base for sure. Even though I live in Belgium, our local game/card stores never stocked the 1st edition boxes for whatever reason. Except for Raichu, I pulled every single card in the Unlimited Base Set back in 1999. Being able to relive those memories would be priceless. And the added 1st edition stamp would just give it a bit more oomph.
I think the obvious answer would be any valuable set. 1st Base is the most obvious, followed by Shadowless, 1st Neo Destiny, Skyridge, etc. If this question was asked of me about Magic, I would be inclined to say Alpha or Beta. Regardless of how much I know about the hobby, it would be exhilarating to pull a card I even peripherally know is expensive like a Lotus or a Mox Ruby or whatever.
On a more personal level, I would probably pick a box that has a decent amount of fun in it. Nothing from Black and White or newer. It should have at least some valuable to get some of that extra excitement. My two personal favorite sets are Platinum: Supreme Victors and Platinum: Rising Rivals… those would be fun for me personally, especially because of the expected pull rates (3ish Lv. Xs, 1-2 shinies, reprint secret rares, Rotoms, etc.). I could also go for pretty much any EX series box… my favorite set of those is Deoxys and not just for the Gold Stars. They definitely help, though.
Any e series box honestly because I’ve never opened any e-series sealed product
Platinum rising rivals
I love the platinum sets and rising rivals has this awesome lv X Snorlax :3
Base 2
Jk lol
1st Base. There was nothing like squeezing out that reddish edge and finding a Charizard.
Non Pokémon, I’d pick an alpha box too or a 1952 Topps baseball.
Japanese aquapolis. Both sets haha.
Legendary Collection, since it’s like a greatest hits and the rev holo is a secone chance in each pack for a rare.
LOL! That made me laugh, nice one dude.
I would go for a legendary collection booster box, the chance of getting 2 big hits in the same pack . Also the packs that have a non holo rare still have a juicy reverse.
Expedition with a gameboy advance and e-reader since I am not familiar with the set and have never used the reader.
I’m gonna shoot Majestic Dawn some love for this one. Its the set that got me into my 2nd wave of collecting.
It’d simultaneously be a blast to past and a learning experience because I’ve forgotten the majority of the set. And most of all, it wouldn’t be too hard to say goodbye to the cards
Probably Skyridge or Aquapolis. I like the art so I’d want to check out what I could find in a whole box, but at the same time wouldn’t cry that I couldn’t keep the cards (they’re just not sets currently on my radar)
