Interesting WoTC era blister. Looking for some opinions

Here is a pic of 2 packs in the back, 4 in total. (seems like I can only upload one picture at a time due to being new member, will upload rest in the comments):

Anyone know anything about this blister? I Negotiated the price down to $1500 but I’m hesitating due to how tightly packed those packs are.

However, they would be guaranteed unweighted, which is cool. Seems like a very rare piece so would like to add this to my collection but just wanted to get some feedback first. What do you guys think?

A lot of third party companies bought and resold loose packs back in the day. I wouldn’t be surprised if this accelerated during WoTC’s famed Scorched Earth Mode.

In response to losing the license for printing Pokémon cards in 2003, Wizard’s at the time VP, Vince Calouri; launched “Scorched Earth Mode.” In this, Calouri openly threatened Nintendo, telling them that, if they retracted the license, Wizards would flood the market, causing a plummet in product value, and devaluing the product for Nintendo. After the license was indeed lost, Wizards decided to vent the entire supply of a private stocked warehouse in an attempt to make good on their threat. Additionally, former members of Wizards’ playtest staff alleged that, under Scorched Earth Mode, Organized Play had “given up on trying.” This led to many bizarre events occurring, such as officially run Wizards’ “FAT” (Fan Appreciation Tournaments) where entry was the price of 2 packs, but the winners were guaranteed 16 packs as prize. Other times, it meant releasing cards with errors on purpose, to suit the desires of Wizards’ balancing team, such as the Best of Game Hitmonchan.

Do you guys think this would be a good investment @ $1500?

Isn’t it kind of crazy to consider WotC did all that and it had no impact whatsoever?

Sealed product like this is a niche category and unofficial sealed product is even more narrow. Whatever this is worth, it is probably only worth the cards inside and the packaging does not offer much additional value.

I’m not really the best investor, but this item doesn’t have the same lure that other items in the hobby have for $1,500. There’s so many great cards for that price, or half that price. I’m not saying they’re investable, but I’d say you can get way more bang for you buck. PIkachu Poke Card Creator Pack in PSA 9. Burned Tower Legend’s promo in PSA 9. I mention these cards are somewhat rare and are also cards on my collection goals for 2024.

Q: If Pokémon continues to grow globally, will China or Japan ever have an interest in this item? What are items that would appeal to every collector around the globe?

A: Japanese promos
