Yes the front looks fake given the darker text and the color but I been told it can also be a misprint in the printing process - ie: the black ink got added twice…etc.
What do you all think? Does the text not seem a bit off? Like they are a lot darker and blurry to read - especially the description of the pokemon at the bottom (It is said that it quietly spends its time deep at the bottom of the sea, because its powers are so strong). The text looks so big compare to some of the other ones. Even the artist’s name Hironobu Yoshida looks too large and blurry.
The holo makes it look real. I have attached a video in the imgur link below.
The video of the holo is here (please check it out). This is what is making me think it may just be a printing issue.
I’d be more bothered by the fingernail dent running across the yellow border on the top. Top right corner looks dented too. Wouldn’t pay more than psa 6 prices personally
The holo pattern looks to be exactly the same as the stock photo of this card on Bulbapedia, except shifted slightly to the right.
Do the patterns repeat? I don’t actually know haha bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/File:LugiaNeoGenesis9.jpg
Just want to know if it is real. Not worried about the condition or the price.
The holo looks real enough and if this is a fake, then this holo is the best one I have ever seen. If they can make fake holographic like this, then it wouldn’t be long before they start fooling everyone.
The text and color on the front looks off - especially the description at the bottom ie “It is said that it quietly spends its time deep at the bottom…etc”. The text looks way darker than all the other ones I have seen. It is also blurry which shouldn’t be in most cases. The text should be clear and easy to read.
Moreover, the color saturation is off as the card is a lot darker. It is more apparent in the photo. But the holo checks out so I want to get a confirmation as it may be a printing issue.
Looks real to me, but if you are not 100% sure for yourself, don’t buy it. You will have it in a sleeve and top loader, and when looking at it, always wondering, is it real?
Either additional ink error or crazy good fake. I would send to CGC or take a high res scan and blow up in Photoshop to see the color print dot matrix pattern.
Thank you for linking this thread! I’ve been wondering for a while if anyone’s ever mapped the holo pattern. It’s pretty clearly a repeating pattern, glad I found a thread about it.
