Hi guys, I am looking to purchase a japanese crystal charizard (mysterious mountains) PSA 10. I have an offer for $900. Unfortunately the PSA Auction Price history doesn’t seem to have some of the more recent transactions for the card. The last sale shown on the PSA website has the card at $820, but all of the previous sales are over 1k. The guy I am thinking of buying it from, bought it recently at $1,250 off of ebay. I’m worried that if he is offering such a low value, the liquidity must also be low. I would love to own this card, but I certainly do not want to over pay for it. Do you guys think $900 is a decent deal, considering the 2nd most recent transaction went lower? It’s hard to tell if $820 is just a fluke. Thanks in advance!
Nice, I would totally take that if they needed the money. Ive seen that happen a few times. Like someone else stated, hopefully it looks like a solid 10. Wonder if thats the guy who just bought it on Jul 18/19 or w/e for $1250 lol on previous sold listings… Id snatch it up regardless of a solid 10, it most likely will go up anyways and under 1k, thats a steal. At least its not an obvious flag where its sold for $1250 in sold listings and they are selling it for $200 lol.
Awesome. I will definitely buy it then. Yes he purchased it on July 18/19 for 1250. I checked, its the same PSA #. Yea i had him send some photos and videos. Looks good so far, nothing glaringly wrong. It’s an international purchase so thats the only thing I am nervous about. Hopefully it all goes well.
Good luck, I hope so too, I do really like that Charizard even though I get tired of looking at him lol but investment wise, he is usually a safe bet (can never guarantee too much in a hobby). Yeah, whats the Ebay username and geographic location? Someone may have an insight to the seller. I just saw that sold listing but didnt see the username.
If you’re nervous about it’s price (especially when you compare an 820.00 sale and you’re only paying 900.00) and it’s location (Philippines) then pass. Many more will pop up when you’re less concerned.
The unlimited is weird. The price has historically been less than the 1st ed, but the rarity is higher? I am not sure if the buyers are unaware, or they just prefer the 1st edition stamp.
This is good advice. I had done a fair bit of research and I felt comfortable with my offer. I think at the end of the day I was nervous because spending that much money for me is a big deal and I just wanted to be as safe as possible. I am definitely very happy with how it all worked out. The 820 was an ebay auction so I feel confident that it was a market outlier. If am wrong though its no big deal, I love the card and am happy to have it.
