Japanese Gold Star Pikachu

Hey everyone  I’ve got the chance to buy a pretty clean looking Japanese Gold Star Pikachu - it won’t get a 10 but I think from the pictures it’s a minimum 7/8.

They want £260 for it - i’m only recently getting into investing/buying older nice cards. Do you think the investment is worth it?

I’d likely get it graded and hold onto it for while?

Please let me know your thoughts i’m keen to learn!

Very big difference between a 7 and an 8 or 9 for the gift box gold star Pikachu. On a 7 you might breakeven, on a 9… well, that’s a nice flip.

Hmmm yeah, I think it could get an 8. Sounds like £260 is probably too much of an asking price but they won’t go any lower :frowning: might just have to tell them it’s a no deal

Recent 8 sales are in the $450 USD range. There’s some room there if you are confident in the grade. If you’re looking to hold it for your own collection, different story

If it’s truly in 7-8 condition that’s a pretty fair price. You have room for profit with an eight and a smaller margin with a 7. Here are recent sales for a 7 & 8:

Yeah I saw a few of these posts and went for it in the end!

Always been a chase for me so will get it graded and likely hold onto it for a while! Thanks for the help!
