JR Rally Cards (completed)

Hey Guys,
Ive been looking at purchasing a set of the JR rally cards, after my thread the other day looking for sets that were limited in the release and that have unique art work i landed on these cards being the next set id love to get. I found this info on bulbapedia:This card was one of six available through the Pokémon Happy Adventure Rally 2002, which ran on the JR East Yamanote Line from August 3 to August 18, 2002. Mewtwo could be obtained at the booth present at Shinagawa Station.
Does anyone know anything else about this even and cards?

Also the artworks look like they would all fit together to form one cool artwork but i cant for the life of me find an image of it anywhere… does anyone know if it a poster of full image of these cards all together exists?
Cheers,
Owen

READ MY POST BELOW TO SEE THE COMPLETE SET I ENDED UP GETTING AFTER POSTING THIS THREAD

Thanks heaps @chok & @prochaos thats just what i wanted to see! do you have anymore info on the event and cards, how many might have been printed etc!?
Cheers.

Typically the JR Stamp Rally involves kids getting a booklet which they use to fill up with stamps across various train stations in japan.
Presumably the stamp station looks something like this:
I actually have a copy of the book they used in 2000. According to the book, they split up the stations into two groups (gold/silver). Getting a stamp from all the stations in a group gave you either the non-holo version of the black star eevee or the black star mewtwo (both english).

Here’s some promotional material for the 2017 stamp rally: www.jreast.co.jp/pokemon-rally/pdf/pokemon-rally2017_e.pdf

I’m going to assume the 2002 JR Rally set in your original post was given out in a similar way. Unfortunately I only have the 2000 stamp booklet.

The JR Rally promos were the last 6 cards from the Japanese “P” promos. The “P” promos were the first Japanese numbered promos. If I remember correctly, the 6 cards came in a package that included a small purse and a wallet. The packages sold for $40 to $45 on Ebay back in 2002.

COMPLETE PSA 10 JR RALLY SETSo I’m excited to say I ended up trading a card to get a complete set of JR Rally PSA 10 cards! One of my goals this year was to complete a set in all PSA 10 so that’s now done (even if its only 6 cards still counts), Not only that but it is the first completed set ever registered with PSA in the world so I’m stoked with that little bonus :blush:The cards are relatively low pop as well with an average pop of 35 for each card. Here are some pics for the E4 Community.

So that is the set, thanks to everyone for all the information and pic you have posted about the set, hopefully this thread will help someone else in the future who might be looking into these cards  Cheers, Owen

That was quick haha. Didn’t know PSA finally got the set in their registry.

If you’re thirsty for more, the Pikachu has a card with alternative artwork:
