Jungle and Fossil booster boxes, to 1st or not to 1st

Hi there,
Just finished my base psa 9 1st edition set and I have a shadowless booster box to make it feel complete (yes 1st edition box would be even compete but that’s just a no go).
At first I wanted to finish shadowless and unlimited but that beeing the same cards kind of bored me so I’m now trying to complete Jungle and Fossil.
Because tne price difference between 1st and unlimited is quite small I prefer going for 1st.
The psa 9 holo’s are complete but to top the sets of I would like to search for the sealed boxes.

What do you think, should I go straight for 1st edition here to or just go for unlimited versions?
If my 10 minutes of research are correct the prices should be somewhat like this if I take my time, but please correct me if I’m wrong (let’s call it a price check):
Jungle 1st $2200
Jungle unlimited $900
Fossil 1st $1600
Fossil unlimited $750

Also its not that clear what the runs for 1st and unlimited are right? Probably somewhat 50/50?

Let me know what you think I should go for!

To me it would make sense to get the unlimited to spend less on sealed product and more on singles, to match the base set rhythm you went with. In the longest run 1st would give better long-term financial return though, if that is what you are looking for as much as a collection.

If you will never want to sell the boxes, unlimited. If in 5-10 years you decide you might want to sell, first ed will obvi give you a better return

Why would they give a better return?
I would expect them to grow, if they do, in the same matter.
Pricewise unlimited would be fine for my collection, the difference is quite big in my opinion.

1st edition are more sought after and less available, I would expect them to get a higher roi. It doesn’t matter if you’re not ever going to sell.

The simple answer to this question, it’s your collection, decide what you want in it. If I, or anyone, chooses what goes into your collection it isn’t yours.

I always prefer 1st edition, but like @cullers said, this is up to you. You are the one who has to be happy with your collection.

If you could link me to where you’re seeing fossil unlimited for $750 that would be great.

I know that in the end I must chose myself but help is always nice.

A higher roi would suggest a bigger difference in price between unlimted and 1st in the future, although there already is a big difference.
I might just safe up and go for the 1st boxes, the stamp is nice :wink:.

@budget, I can’t give you a link. I gues this is your way of saying you think they are worth more…?
In sold listings 1st edition boxes go for $1500-$1800, there are not that many unlimited for sale or sold but the listings that are on no for $1200 or more don’t make sense, seeing 1st boxes on there for $1700.

Theres at least 3 unlimited fossil boxes that have sold for between $900 and $950 very recently

Decided to go for the 1st edition boxes and take it easy on my quest for the holos in psa 10’s and just be happy with my 9’s.
