Mine is a tough choice:

First experience was opening up a base pack as a kid and pulling a Chansey.

Second was opening a Champions Path pack and pulled the shiny Charizard V.

That’s what it’s all about right there. Good times.

@piezers,

What a wonderful giveaway, thank you. My first ever pack opening will forever be my favorite and most memorable which was a base set Blastoise. I remember it like it was yesterday…

Kind of going down memory lane, I had to be about 7 years old… opening the pack in this very small card shop no bigger than a 10x10 room opening up the pack right at the register and just the sheer excitement from the owner Howey when I pulled the Blastoise. Words don’t give justice to how I felt at that moment, and from there I was hooked. Everything about that moment from being with my father to Howey putting my card in a top-loader is a memory I’ll never forget.

For that I am thankful, I am thankful to have those moments with my father and hope to be able to have moments like that with my future children. Happy Thanksgiving @piezers, & E4

One day when I was very little and pokemon was very new I had a friend come over to my place. My mom decided to give us each a base set booster pack to open, he pulled a charizard and I got nothing. RIP.

Thanks for the give away

Most memorable was opening a rocket pack and getting a dark raichu (didnt even realize it was a secret rare) but being super psyched that it was an error pack and there was another rare included as well. First time I had ever encountered two rares in a single pack.

Next would be opening my first pack in a decade+ and pulling a mewtwo gx #78 and getting back into pokemon.

Sign me up! Most fun opening a pack was pulling a Base 1st Edition Zard as a 13 year old kid. Sadly I don’t have it anymore.

So I’ll have to go with Hidden Fates! I opened a ton of tins and collection boxes as well as the premium power collection. My favorite pulls were Umbreon, Espeon, and all the eveelutions. I did pull the Zard but I happen to like Umbreon much better. Its such a beautiful card.

That’s the last time I’ve opened packs. I generally just buy singles now of the cards I want. For modern I’ve been going after Rainbow Rares, Gold cards and Shinies. I’m looking forward to this February release. I forgot the sets name. But I’m not looking forward to the mad rush to get product that’s sold out everywhere. It seems like a lot of modern sets are becoming hard to come by even on release day.

@kanto Shark That’s a very nice Thanksgiving gesture of you! We greatly appreciate it!

I did see your video of pulling that Zard! It was wild to say the least!

This is very generous of you, @piezers ! Happy Thanksgiving!

One of my favorite experiences was opening my first Japanese booster packs.

My mom is an elementary school teacher, and she had asked a friend and parent of one her students to pick up some cards when they were in Japan. It was a complete surprise. I was elated when my mom suddenly handed over a Fossil and a Rocket pack after she got home from work one day. To put it into further context, this was before those sets were released in the US.

I got a holo Magneton and a holo Dark Charizard (both of which are still in my binders).

Thanks for the giveaway @piezers, I’d say my favorite pull was probably a silver border reshiram from legendary treasures, since I love the art and had never seen one before

When I was kid, I’d get a single Pokemon card pack per marking period if I got good grades. We’re talking, max, 7/8 packs a year over two years with the occasional impulse buy by my mom.

The only holo I ever pulled as a kid was holo Snorlax. Now I got two copies of PSA 9 first Ed. Snorlax.

Thanks for the giveaway!

Another giveaway! Wow!

Thanks!

Favorite Pokémon card pull/Most fun experience = Back in the school playground many years ago I opened one of my first ever Pokémon packs, a £2GBP base pack. I think I pulled a Poliwrath, but I swapped it among many other holos for a friend’s battered Charizard.

I remember there was one girl in the year below who pulled a Charizard and become famous in the school overnight for the rest of her existence. She constantly paraded the Charizard around until the school banned Pokémon cards. She was the only one to have one at that time for like 2-3 weeks that we knew of.

Thanks for the giveaway, @piezers!

One of the best pack openings was when my wife opened a Cosmic Eclipse booster pack and pulled an Arceus & Dialga & Palkia GX Alternate Art. She had no idea how great of a card that was or the rarity, she just said “Is this any good?”

After I got my tonsils taken out when I was 5 years old, my throat was sore and my voice was weak for the days that followed. My parents got me some Pokemon packs as a gift. While riding in the back of the car, I pulled a Shining Charizard. Definitely my best pull ever. It’s a fond memory especially today–simpler times.

Thank you for the giveaway!

My favorite booster pack pull was in 2016. Evolutions was freshly released and I had a prerelease kit from a prerelease event I attended. I had opened it the day of and pulled the prerelease CHARIZARD!! It was night time then so I saved the packs for the next morning because I wanted to record the openings in daylight. So I started recording and stuff opened three packs and saved the charizard pack for last. I opened the pack, my hands began to quiver. Did the card trick, slowly went through the cards, I got to the second to last card and then BAM! FIRE LIZARD!!! So there I was 20 years after base set with a mint charizard in my hands.

I was super pumped it made me feel the same excitement I did as a kid. This memory is actually why I love evolutions so much.

I don’t really remember opening cards as a kid but I do own enough cards to show I opened one expedition pack. So naturally when I got back into the hobby I purchased a few expedition packs.

Out of the 6 packs I purchased I opened 4 holos: Rapidash, Vileplume, Machamp, and most notably… Blastoise!! Even from the packs without a holo I pulled a reverse holo #40 Charizard and a Rev Holo Dragonite!

So my favorite pull was definitely the Expedition Blastoise!

Grats on all your zards this year!

One of the most memorable packs I’ve ever opened was during a birthday party I had where one of my friends had gifted me a Base set 2 booster. I remember even back then when Base 2 was a new set, I personally wasn’t super excited to collect or open those packs. Anyways, I opened it on the spot and completely lost my cool when I saw that I had pulled a Charizard! That moment afterwards is kind of a blur to me now. I just remember not really being able to control myself and I was definitely shouting and my mom got mad at me. It was a good day.

One of the most memorable and fun moments of opening a booster pack was when I purchased a pack… base unlimited, and it contained only energy … It was my first experience of getting ripped off. So i decided to test my luck and opened a Mystery box i stashed away, and Bingo got a base unlimited booster pack that weighs 21g lol … I still have that baby sealed !

Thanks for doing a giveaway Kanto Shark, good luck to everyone!

I had a really fun deck opening experience earlier this year. I unexpectedly came upon a Japanese Neo Starter Deck. It was unsealed, so the shopowner let me take a quick peek inside and it looked like a full deck so I took a chance and bought it. It had a full 60 card deck, I got 2 awesome holos- Bellossom and Heracross, and some nice commons including my favorite gen 2 starter, Totodile… But there was also 1 extra card inside, the only card in a sleeve… a Corocoro Shining Mew! Had a lot of fun opening that deck!

Not really a specific pull memory but as a kid I never realized that there were 2 energies in every pack. So I would get mad basically every time that I opened a pack thinking I could have gotten Pokemon in those slots

I remember opening each pack and just moaning, “enerrggyyy”

Incredibly generous!

My favorite experience pulling a card was when I first bought packs as an adult since I quit collecting as a kid. Shining legends pulled me back in and I bought a 3 pack pin box from target before going to class. Kept it in my car and couldnt wait to get home and open it. When I got home I pulled the mewtube secret rare. I didn’t even really know what I pulled or that I pulled the best card from the entire set but after looking up prices I was just stoked it covered the cost of the box plus 10 bucks or so. Crazy to think that card was only 25 bucks at the time, what a steal. That to date is still my most expensive and coolest pull since I’ve been collecting for the past 2+ years.
