Lets see your 5 favourite non tcg items!

Hey guys, i find myself more and more drawn to the non tcg side of collecting as of late. So as the title says, lets see some cool items you dont see everyday and lets hear a little bit about them.

I guess my favourite thing about non tcg is that you can pick up rare and obscure items for bargain prices.

Everything here cost me less than 200€ total.

The salamence/dragonite/milotic card is a pop 1 in psa 10 with 3 graded total. It was awarded to those who collected stickers of the 3 pokemon from winning video game events and then trading all 3 for this gorgeous card. I was lucky to nab it cheap and grade it myself.

The retsuden holo salamence mini card was 2€!!! And ive never seen another holo version (of any mon)

The 3 pin packs are from different years at the pokemon centers and feature all of my favourite pokemon

The pokepark promo i picked up cheap years ago, I’m very fond of coins which leads me to the salamence advanced generation coin sealed which I admittedly don’t know much about.

Let’s see some non tcg guys

I’m pretty sure I had one of these as a kid! I love that you have all the different colors.

Yay amazing thread! I have many!

Big Lugia Figure. Electronic, flap him wing and do the Lugia song.

Mini Gameboy slide viewer keyring. The pictures of Sugimori water colour loveliness!

Island of the Pink Pokémon Polly Pocket type thing. Mini and cool! I also have some other ones but I love the tiny pink Rhyhorn.

The OG electronic Pokédex. Hours of head scratching before I finally learnt how to spell Gyarados. Kept kid me entertained for hours.

My bestest buddy since I was 8. Still have him. And his mysterious twin that appeared at some point.

Not my pictures just nabbed from Web, but these are 5 things I love from my Non-TCG collection!

Its four but the jazwares figures. I really like the sleek box. That little guy with the gun protects them. It shoots farts. Yes i am an adult. Don’t have much else for non tcg

I love the bookends from the Pokemon center.

If your not a big reader you can use them for your binders but honestly I think they’d be pretty cool to collect even if I didn’t have a functional need for them.

Also, the limited edition statues you can buy from the Pokemon Center made by “First 4 Figure” (although pricey) are very high quality. If they happen to release one of your favorite Pokemon I don’t think you’ll be disappointed with it.

I have plenty of other items that enjoy more but they are either hand crafted or just sentimental to me.

I figured I’d share these because they have a broader appeal and I never see anyone talking about them.

I love those little scenes! Awesome stuff

The medallion is so cool!

Trainers Magazines :jp: :
I have to highlight 3 volumes I currently have in collection: Vol.14, Vol.18 and Vol.19
Personally, I’ve always been more interested in Magazines than the cards that came as inserts. They’re cool, but the Magazines can be difficult to find (depending of the volume you’re searching).

Vol.14, Vol.18 and Vol.19 are 3 of the most difficult magazines to find. (Especially Vol.19) … After losing several auctions for almost 2 years, a contact let me know that there was one Vol.19 for sale … rest is history …

Vol.14 was found during early 2024. The agreement was made behind closed doors and a friend helped me as a middleman. The rest is history …

Vol.18 is signed by Midori Harada. I will always be grateful to the person who helped me make this possible … I still have the plastic bag I received when the magazine returned to me. Vol.18 is also difficult to find … It was one of my 4 first Trainers Magazines (along Vol.11, Vol.15 & Vol.20) I’ve bought back in 2022.

Pokémon Tales: “Transforming Ditto” :jp: & “Let’s Make Pizza, Machop!” :jp: :

I’ve found them by late 2022-early 2023. Despite “Transforming Ditto” is not rare to find, the “Let’s Make Pizza, Machop” book might be difficult to find.

The reason I’ve bought them is because of artwork. It was extremely cool!!!

Pokémon Battle-e e-Cards :jp: :

Despite none of the cards shown in the photos are rare to find, the concept behind Battle-e was innovative. Scanning the e-Cards in order to battle against NPCs who have mysterious Pokémon … and even some of them have :sparkles: Pokémon :exploding_head:

  • The 4 Promos were released along the e-Reader+ :jp:
  • The Colosseum Promo was released as an insert from Winter Scoop 2004 magazine (magazine I also have in my collection)

KFC Psyduck Dancing Toy :cn: :

I found this Psyduck toy in a shop from my country in the middle of the year.
This Psyduck comes with a grass base (I’ve it stored), a mini Radio and a screwdriver. The Psyduck works with 3 AAA batteries and dances to the rhythm of the music.

This Psyduck was released in China as part of a KFC campaign with Pokémon and has became kinda famous thanks to some YouTube videos. There’s even an extended version of its music

The Psyduck has the KFC logo in its back along some Copyright data …

Photo of the Psyduck … with the Dark Magician Girl (Figma) as a cameo …

Omanyte Pokémon Fit Plush :

It’s an Omanyte plush … It’s not big or small … It’s perfect size for a travel suitcase and it doesn’t take up so much space …

Perfect for landscape photos!!! :100:

Awesome thread idea! Already see some really cool items here and can’t wait to see some more. Here are some of my favorites:

Top Seika VS Battle Cards

These cards are just great all around and have interesting/new poses for the pokemon, which is always nice. For whatever reason, I especially like the Johto set (or any of the gold-bordered ones), followed by the 3D set next.

Random Amada/Ensky stickers with awesome holos

The glitter holo shown here is really beautiful to look at. Some of these stickers have really nice holo patterns.

ReMent Figures

I only have two, but all of them that I see are incredibly cute and look really well made.

Keiko Fukuyama postcards

These postcards are just overall extremely cute and the scenarios they depict are very warm and entertaining overall.

Dai Zukan seal book

These are a recent interest, but I love the interesting colors and ways they depict the different pokemon. I hope to post an article about these—if none already exists—once I complete the set (which will be who knows when).

I hope it’s alright to group multiple items of the same line together. For me, I have:

Pokémon Black & White manga collectors edition

This (as well as many other collectors editions of the Pocket Monsters SPECIAL manga) was exclusively released by our German publisher Panini. It comes with the whole arc in three large sized volumes with high quality paper and features postcards with the Japanese covers of the regular volumes as well. As BW is one of my favorite arcs of the manga, I had to get this despite it’s steep price tag (which probably is also the reason why it’s still widely available a year after release despite being limited to 1,111 copies).

Pokémon XY/XYZ German Blu-ray release

Being widely available is not something you can say about these however. These are one of the very few non-Japanese releases of the series on Blu-ray and the only non-Japanese Blu-ray release of the Gen 6 anime. They come with both German and English audio. Since the publisher handled the release rather poorly, they were only available for about a year and now have gotten pretty rare items. They’re also cited as the reason why the current DVD publisher of the Pokémon anime does not want to do any Blu-ray releases of the seasons. So on the one hand I’m very grateful that the seasons that probably benefit the most from it got a Blu-ray release, on the other hand it’s unfortunate that the poor sales (imo due to the poor handling by Studio Hamburg Enterprises) have discouraged further Blu-ray releases.

Digital Pokéball D & P

This one I have many childhood memories with. These are the second generation of a series of handhelds released by Bandai and are basically mini versions of regular Pokémon games. You can catch Pokémon, train them, battle Gym leaders and participate in a final tournament eventually. You can even connect it to another one on the left side to trade Pokémon and battle. Since I got this long before my first actual mainline Pokémon game as a kid, I had a lot of fun with it.

German Hachette DVD release

Now I also have 48 other DVDs of these, so 49/52 total released ones, but I chose this one specifically to illustrate why this release of the first three seasons is special. This DVD was the last release of the old Jynx episodes in German, before they got removed from rotation and thus is the only way to watch them legally. These DVDs are also the only way to watch the original German Master with German title cards amongst other things apart from actual TV airings on RTL II.

Topps candy containers

And finally another childhood memory. These were afaik European only releases. They contained a Pokémon figure, some candy and stickers. I remember that these were sold at the register of a hardware store of all places and my mother often brought me one as a gift when she came from there.

So glad to see this post because I can’t count and just started collecting non-tcg items sorta recently.

1999 Burger King poke balls with 23k gold plated cards + coa’s and a Tiger Electronics Pokedex. There are 6 different cards (Jigglypuff is missing here) and 2 different boxes: red and blue. Blue boxes are said to be from the first promo run

1999 BK PokeTrivia perforated cards, a complete set of uncut sheets (sheet 1-20, only 11 shown). You’d get 1 perforated card from the sheet with a meal. The backs have images from the movie

2019 & 2023 Japan Pokemon Center exclusive Babanuki (Old Maid) decks. Cool artwork reminiscent of Base Set 2 booster packs

1999 Artbox Prism and “R” series gold stickers, 1998/1999 Merlin regular and prism stickers. Artbox packs could have normal, prism, and “rare” gold stickers. The 2 types of gold stickers are textured boarders (G series) and textured image (R series).

2013 Pokemon Nintendo Hanafuda cards. There’s also a 2016 Pokemon+Mario set and a recent Mario set. These things are tiny! Old Japanese card game. 12 months, 4 cards per month for 48 cards per deck. This is my koi pond

1999-200(?) BK mini game boy colors. A couple UK exclusives in there, and all clear cards are in the back compartments. There’s a 4-part code on the bags dictating the pokemon featured, game type, color, and cartridge. If you have enough data, you can figure out what’s in the bag w/o opening. There used to be a website with the codes, but I haven’t been able to find it

And here is a 1999 Pokemon Snap Blockbuster chip card. Idk anything about this yet. I bought it a few hours ago because I was feeling Randy about the 90’s

Cool thread! Although it was hard to pick a top 5.

One that immediately came to mind were the Amada stickers. The artworks on these, especially the Amada Attack ones, are among my favorites.

Team Rocket Rubik’s Cube. As someone who collected twisty puzzles in the past, it’s cool to have an item that combined both those collections. :cubetoken:

There are a lot of cool Seviper figures, but my favorites are defintely the XO Studios ones. They look amazing.

The Greek (and Polish) Metal Tazo. As someone who collects all languages for the TCG, it’s cool to have a non-TCG item in a language that isn’t available in the TCG.

And although they’re also a bit annoying, I like that the Kraks is available in many different colors to collect. I hope I one day be able to have all 15 colors for Seviper (I’m currently sitting at 12; with one additional Seviper Kraks from the second set).

Greetz,
Quuador

I think it’s no surprise to a lot of people here that my favourite non tcg genre is topps cards so i will lead with that

Others i enjoy the most are the metal figures and keshi figures that i love to display as a concrete slime army, also the bandai jumbo featuring multiple of my guys is right at the top.

My fifth pick goes to bandai snack cards and their beautiful holo pattern. And because i am irresponsible i’m also picking a sixth one since the pokemon adventures manga is too good not to mention
