List of All English ex Era Stamped Promo/Prize/Trophy Cards

I have always loved the stamped ex era reverse holo cards and just recently I got thinking what other cards have stamps on them from the ex era? So I looked into it and there are actually quite a bit with many having unique stories and releases to them. As I couldn’t find all of the pictures, releases, and histories all in one area that’s what I set out to do here. I’m excluding prerelease cards here as that could be its own list and have a pretty well known release. Here in this post is just a list along with pictures as I didn’t want to make it too long, but if you want the histories of these cards as well here is a google doc detailing them:

Here is just the list with picture in order of release date I hope you enjoy!

Well put together! I also love the Ex era stamped promos (and rev holos for that matter). Would be a dream to get them all including the Japanese stamped holos from the same period

Thank you! It was a lot of work, but tons of fun. I’m hoping to own a lot myself!

I bet, definitely saving this for later! Would be cool to have a comprehensive list of all the stamped cards from all periods adding this to it

That’d be pretty cool to see. I know they keep going with city championship cards into at least gen 4 and at some point staff cards become much more prevalent.

Very nice job! There are several here that I wasn’t aware of (like the non-holo Dratini/Larvitar with the reverse holo stamp – weird). It would be interesting to have estimates for the number of copies of each of these. Because these were distributed through magazines, in tournaments, etc., it might actually be possible to work out distribution info for many of these. Some already have known distribution info (i.e., the Stadium Challenge Deoxys, which had ~50 copies distributed, Metang Stadium Challenge, which was <1000 copies distributed, etc.).

Thank you! Yeah maybe one day I can look into that. DM ones you know if you want and I can add them to the doc

The only ones I know off the top of my head are the two I mentioned. But there are definitely quite a few others that have known or knowable distribution info (i.e., the stamped Tropical Winds). I might look into all of the cards and report back – I find this sort of thing very interesting.

Got it. If you do good luck and let me know @zorloth,

The weirdest part about those two is that they’ve been exclusively released in Sweden and Denmark inside Scandinavian Donald Duck #49 (December 6, 2005) magazines.

And great job on the list @trainerjack!

You don’t count pre-release promo’s :stuck_out_tongue:?

Thank you! Yeah its such an interesting release for those 2!

I figured that could be its own separate list and that they have a pretty well know release. Meant to put in the original post excluding pre-release cards. I’ll add that now.

@quuador, How do you know these things?!

Great list @trainerjack

Thank you. To hop on that question you asked @quuador, at least I found that out through Bulbapedia. its discussed a bit here:

Not sure anymore. I knew they were from Sweden/Denmark for a few years (I’m pretty sure I read that here on the forum), as well as the non-Holo 035 Pikachu that came in another Scandinavian magazine (I have all three in my collection). At one point I just tried to look up the information for these two promos, and was able to find it came from the Donald Duck magazine #49, and after that I was able to found the release date of that specific volume. Although I have no idea anymore where I got that information from at the time.

If you look at the history on Bulbapedia, you can see I added that info.

Here that Donald Duck magazine, and how I was able to determine the release date:

@quuador , That’s amazing dude! Thanks for sharing.

@quuador , Someone actually just made a thread about them with another issue having them too. So perhaps they came in both issues.

Really great list! Very nice to have a view of everything all in one place. I mostly collect set cards, but EX is my favorite era and there are certainly a few fun cards to chase in here.

My only wish was that they’d been more liberal with that cosmos foil

Thanks for taking the time!

Thank you! One of the main reason I put this together was to get them all in one place! I’m glad you like it
