I’m guessing that it’s 4.5, it’s a specialty set not a main set.

It is SWSH 4.5 and it releases in February. This set is SWSH 5 and releases in March. Shining fates is a holiday set.

Due to not knowing most of the pokemon, I feel disenfranchised (may not be the right word here) and feel like I’m subscribing to a completely different game.

I am both excited and a little disappointed. The labels for the different styles don’t look great to me, and it feels a little tacky to have them within the artwork borders. And the Tyranitar pack art looks better than the card itself, IMO.

That said, some of the coolest and most diverse competitive formats have come from these types of tribal mechanics (mainly the SP format). It’s especially neat that they are doing two at once. If only that Mienshao wasn’t a piece of garbage.

The label looks like some obscure promo label that would be tacked on to a card. But like @pkmnflyingmaster said, it’s nice to just have a nice standalone set that does its own thing other than shiny pokemon or charizards. Also didn’t realize that pokemon was legendary but god damn am I tired of all these humanoid hybrid pokemon.
