Major Pokemon theft in Denmark

Hey everyone,

I’m writing to inform you of a major Pokemon robbery, having taken place in Denmark this past weekend. Well over $100.000 worth of products have been stolen from me.

If anyone from the nordic countries attempts to sell you Japanese PSA 10 Base cards, Neo Starter decks, VHS Intro sets, CD Promos, sealed promo lots, artbox stickers boxes/cases, as well as a major collection of raw Japanese Neo cards - then it might very well be stolen goods. If anything suspicious pops up, please let me know. It’s important for me to make it as difficult as possible for them to sell the items.

The police are taking it very seriously and are investigating the case as we speak. Most major collectors within Scandinavia have been or are being contacted. I’ll update the post with a complete list and descriptions shortly.

Please let me know if you stumble upon anything suspicious. - And be careful with your collections. This is a completely devastating situation.

Oh no :slightly_frowning_face:
This is terrible, I’m very sorry for you!
These are all items I regularily look out for, so I’ll keep my eyes open and get back to you when I find something suspicious!

Good luck to you and the police that you can find these lowlifes.

Did you record the cert numbers?

That is just horrible. As a fellow Dane, you have all my sympathy. Maybe you can state in which part of the country the stuff was stolen? If they went specifically after your collection, chances are it is someone from your wider network? This is also why I am completely absent from any social media/public platform in terms of discussion and selling Pokemon cards as these collectibles now have become so valuable. In a way it is funny (or tragic) that for the longest time you would not talk about collecting Pokemon cards because it was nerdy and uncool, and now when it has become much more mainstream and socially accepted, it may also be better to not talk about it to avoid any unwanted attention from shady people.

Yes. And I have photos of everything. So placement of holo pattern and whitening on the backs of cards will help identify cards, once they pop up.

Sorry to hear that

I’ll keep an eye out on the UK groups in part of and Europe groups.

I imagine if they try to sell they will be splitting into more sizable chunks

I’m not master of theft so I had no idea; but I assume they would hold for a while before trying to sell?

If you have photos/ a record of it, give the psa serial numbers to the police. That way if they ever pop up on Amazon or Ebay, you can have ebay step in to assist as well.

Terrible, hopefully they were taken by someone who doesn’t know what they’re doing and they get caught via the certs.

Stolen from your house? Was you home or out? Most likely it’s someone you know that knows you collect. Watch out for neibors “friends” and even family. Often it’s someone close to you. Was anything else missing or a direct hit on just the cards?

Nothing else. Only the TCG stuff. Also VS System booster boxes and some other sets, but they went directly for the TCG. I was out at the time.

Hey Hanada,

I had a similar experience happen to me in the Netherlands. Worked with a guy to do a massive trade/cash deal and ended up losing my PSA 9 1st Ed Charizard. My fault 100% for not following my code and being swept up by the guy’s reputation. I made police reports in both my country and his and have been updated with what they find as they continue the hunt. Word of advice for someone who has been through this:
Do your best to coherently write out what happened with chat history, pictures of the product, cert numbers of any graded slabs lost, etc. The more details you write the better police can understand the gravity of the situation. Seems like you are already doing that which is great! Spread the word as much as you can and if you lost any certs send the police report to PSA,BGS, whoever.
One thing I wished I did sooner was push for a detective. While I was doing my own investigation, it would have been extremely helpful to work with someone throughout search and not have to try and explain from the start what I uncovered. Hope for the best and feel free to contact me anytime.

Hey,

Jeg skal nok holde øje. Det er ærgerligt, og nej, forsikringen dækker desværre intet.
