Sorry I’m not sure how to go about formatting this post, but I came across someone on a livestream and chatted with them for a bit about collecting. They mentioned having picked up a lenticular Meiji item that featured Kabutops on it, and I can’t seem to find any info on an item that fits that description. I’ve tried finding the person again, but get a dead link (which is weird because it hasn’t been that long, and we spoke more than once).
While I never saw it myself, so it could be that they misremembered something about the item, they seemed sure, so I thought I would ask here. Have any of you heard of this? Any help is appreciated!
I’ve also seen the Charmander and Togepi for this set, but I haven’t gone looking for it specifically. I don’t know if all 151 pokemon are contained in this set though, but, as always, @nidokingdom is a good resource for figuring more out.
Probably It’s the 3D meijis lenticulars that @mrbubbles is mentioning, in the other lenticular sets I can think about, I checked briefly I don’t see any kabutops or kabuto, I will check back home in my binders though
No fossils in the Meiji Pukkuri lenticular sticker set mentioned by @bbobrob unfortunately
I have no clue what the set list looks like, but I think @nidokingdom has a near-complete or complete set (Sorry I always end up tagging you I just know you have a lot of knowledge on these vintage items/sets)
Hey sorry for the delay, I was out of service with COVID
Here’s what my set looks like, there’s probably a second set much rarer with johto pokemon but I’ve only seen like one or two them (including my Totodile)
First most of the set of Meiji lenticulars for the Milk cocoa ones (here the picture is the uncut sheet)
And then the mini lenticular set that comes with mini chocoballs
I can confirm these are real Meiji products, basically they are actually double layered stickers . You can peel off the 3D lenticular to stick it, and beneath you will discover another holo sticker (gold or silver) that shows artworks from the anime.
