Mew EX play promo, is it rare?!

Hello whats the background on the mew play promo? What was the release like? If I recall correctly didn’t Scott sell a psa 10 for over 1k? Thanks

Thanks Scott any info on the release of this card? Noticed prices are down to like $650-$750 now in a 10. I love the art work so was wondering if its a good opportunity to pick one of these up

I don’t believe prices are really going down, just up. Even when Smpratte said he sold his for over 1k, there were still about one or two PSA 10 cards posted in the $500-$600 dollar range. Shortly after that, someone even posted one for under $400 but it sold pretty fast. I lucked out and purchased a copy last Feburary for $384, but I didn’t know it was going to be on an upwards trend at the time. I’ve been checking out the prices pretty much ever since because it just interests me now. In addition, it seems like there are multiple ways to search for this card. I had to use both of the searches “Mew 7000” and “Mew 007” to actually see everything listed. Searching only one didn’t give me everything posted. Right now the cheapest card I see on Ebay is one $755 card, and then everything at about 1k+

I actually just bought the most recent psa 10 for 650 on ebay. (best offer down from 699). I was very tempted to buy two and was going to today but the seller pulled the listing. I also own two of these raw. It’s one of my favorite cards and i’m happy to see it on the incline.

Also 101 psa 10 copies exist, for some reason there’s 2 different play promo categories at psa.

What are the top play promo cards? Top as in most valuable/scarce? I’m assuming umbreon and espeon are the top 2.

Umbreon 70,000
Espeon 50,000
Flareon 30,000
Mew ex 7,000
Jolteon 20,000
Vaporeon 10,000
Celebi ex 5,000

Top one being the rarest and most expensive, and i think the mew ex is less rare than the jolteon but is more sought after and fetches a higher price

I’m currently collecting them up to flareon in psa 10, and there are some cards that are more scarce in the 10, like the master ball battle road promo is only a pop 9, so I’m expecting to pay a premium for that card, and same with the ——- mew will fetch a higher price as it’s a highly collectable Pokemon and the artwork, I think it’ll be hard to put an estimate on how rare each card is, but I’d expect any card that had to be earnt with points is more rare in terms of print, where as the other cards was given out for just being a part of the fan club, and it depends if your looking to collect raw cards/graded card

Yeah I think I’ve recently seen an umbreon for $19,000 on eBay and an espeon for around $9,000 while I was able to pick up a flareon for $1400 the other day ( psa 10 ) so a massive drop off

two conversations from back in 2008 that I read the other day on a website, if the statements are real, I’m sure I won’t be the only one that’s a bit jealous haha

The Japanese used to really undervalue their promos. Trading with them was always like that at Worlds.

less points needed, and also the same artwork got released in Unseen Forces. There’s also a jirachi ex, my personal favorite that’s japanese exclusive but even cheaper than celebi because less points.

I’ll check on my eBay for the sales that have ended, I should imagine they came to a deal outside of eBay, but here’s what I can find so far that’s available on eBay, the umbreon and espeon was also printed in English ( non holo ) for the pop series 5 and fetch a high price also, if I had the money laying around I would be buying the espeon, but i doubt I’ll ever be able to afford over a psa 6
