Mew/Mewtwo WHF special Sheet - PSA mislabeled (CD Promo)

Hi,

I’ve sent 4 WHF Special Sheet sets (Pikachu/Mewtwo/Mew) to PSA.
When I received them back from PSA all Mew/Mewtwo cards received “GLOSSY CD Promo” label.
Who never heard of WHF Special sheet vs CD Promo see this threadAs the WHF/CD Promo cards look identical it has always been difficult to prove that you own a WHF card and not a CD Promo.
During the PSA submission it was enough to add pictures or other kind of way to prove this.
So during the submission process my friend added pictures/videos of me peeling the sheets.
As it is not the first time I received a mislabeled card I contacted PSA Customer support.
It took a while but today I received feedback from PSA:

*Thank you for contacting PSA Customer Service. We have reached out to our Research Team and confirmed that this is something that we can label for this card.

“We now just label them as CD promo. Despite the customer being able to prove that these are WHF, we will not label them as such due to it being unfair to other customers. … we will just label them as CD promo. “*

As stated above they think it’s not fair to other customers. I think it’s unfair as WHF card owners to not label them as WHF cards.
CD Promo cards are all over the place and are very cheap. WHF sheets/graded cards are much more rare/scarce than CD Promos.
I feel a bit ripped off by PSA now. There is no way for me to sell them at a decent price as anyone can buy ‘real’ CD Promo’s anytime on ebay.

How do you guys feel about the PSA Customer Service feedback?
Anyone had similar experiences with grading these cards?
If you do not agree with my opinion that’s ok!

I completely understand that you’re upset. But as the link you posted shows, there just isn’t a 100% bulletproof way to distinguish Mew and Mewtwo. So basically I’m fine with PSA using one label for both variants, the big problem is of course that they used to grade them differently. But what can you do…
At least you have video proof for yourself and potential buyers.

If anything, this thread goes to show that nobody should peel off the Mew and Mewtwo of their WHF sheets if they want to conserve value and authenticity.

Cheers!

This is disappointing to hear, I’ll be keeping mine sealed then from now on.

Although, I assume the same goes vice versa. If you pay a premium for an old cert WHF label, since PSA graded them before and there’s no difference. You could be buying a CD promo card labelled as WHF, no one would know and no one could prove otherwise…

So, basically buy the label, which sucks but that’s just the way it is now I guess.
