I’ve been looking at Pokemon Center Japan’s site and they have a lot of really cool unique items that I might start purchasing, so far I’ve found a couple middleman services like White Rabbit Express. What services do you all use and do you find them to be reliable?
I’ve been purchasing from all the main ones and can’t complain about any really. Since I am in Canada, White Rabbit has seemed a bit more expensive in terms of the service fees and stuff but it may be different where you are. I have only received a package from FromJapan so I can only say they are reliable, but should be receiving a package from White Rabbit tomorrow (shipped out today).
I have received refunds from all sites since they were unable to purchase items (not sure why sometimes they wait days to a week to purchase an item which ends up being sold out when they try to buy it), and all those refunds went smoothly with the money returning to my accounts within 5 business days at most.
I’ll have to check out FromJapan and a few others just to see how the price differs. I wonder why they wait so long to put in your orders, but I’m glad that you were able to get your money back! That was my main concern with ordering through any of these services so that makes me feel better about using them. Appreciate your reply!
Yeah it covers auctions. You deposit the amount you want them to bid, and they bid that amount. From my experience with them its hard to win an auction without putting a higher deposit since you can’t do a last minute increase since it requires someone on their end to enter the bid. The most success with auctions I have had is FromJapan and ZenMarket
The only differences are the amount of the service fees. FromJapan has two options 300 yen for just basic delivery to their warehouse and 700 for insured delivery to their warehouse. This doesnt include the final shipping to you price. I think Buyee has something like a 500 yen base service fee. ZenMarket has no service fee but they have a fee on deposits so depending on the amount you deposit, you may end up paying more in fees. Its just different for each one haha. Yeah I’m not sure why sometime it takes so long, but its rare. Like I have over 100 items in consolidation right now and only had maybe 3-5 refunds for not being able to buy the item/sellers refusal to sell to middle men services/seller not responding.
I don’t mind the double post one bit haha you’re providing me with great information so I appreciate it! I didn’t realize that FromJapan doesn’t include the shipping cost to get it to you so that’s really good to know. Have you had any experience with Remambo?
None of the sites give you how much itll cost for international shipping. That is always calculated after the items arrive at their warehouse and they package it/consolidate it with other items. I think White Rabbit does their best to estimate what the international shipping will be but I don’t remember if it was close to what I ended up paying which was like 25 USD for 2 day FedEx. You do get a choice of the service though, like DHL, FedEx or japan based mail services like air, boat (2-3month long wait).
Sorry I have never heard of Remambo so I don’t know anything about them.
They were the first to pop up on google when searching for “how to order from Pokemon Center Japan” for me. That’s good to know, I figured whatever price they gave you was everything you paid but that makes a lot more sense. I’m assuming that probably adds another $20-$30 (or your currency equivalent) to your order then.
Yeah lol you are right about that, but I would be paying a lot more if I bought them from eBay, etc. Also my FromJapan order has $678 CAD in shipping atm loool, but the international shipping is only like $50 of that. The rest is of the fees for buyer protection and stuff and domestic shipping which is different for each seller of course. But it averages to less than $10 per item, which is not that bad imo.
Yep exactly! Good luck with everything, and there are actually a lot of youtube vids on these sites by people buying all kinds of goods (mostly clothes). So they have good insight as well on the experience as a whole. I’ve only been doing it for 1-2 months so its not the most extensive experience.
