Mis-represented Shadowless Packs on eBay

In case anyone else on here recently purchased from this seller, I won three of her auctions for Shadowless booster packs, no mention of “possible” or “no guarantees” etc. Tried to message them before bidding to ask the question but they don’t take questions per their base statement so I went with the info on the auction. No where did it mention any caveats.

Got the packs, two were heavy so I opened them, both turned out to be Unlimited. Seller responded to my follow up saying “sorry no returns, I made that disclaimer on the listing no matter what” etc.

They sold several more of these to others so if anyone here won any of those be advised you probably have unlimited packs. My position is that these items we’re missing-represented as Shadowless Packs specifically, with no other product or potential for another product mentioned. Let me know if you disagree? Would like to hear other opinions.

Technically he can probably get away with it because he put it was a shadowless “cover” which doesn’t mean shadowless cards. Kind of crappy though. Shadowless is always so tough to sell and buy.

Not trying to be a prick, but that ad does say shadowless pack cover. That’s exactly what they are. The long crimp packs contain the shadowless cards.

Plus…you opened both heavies? Ehh…I mean I bet you wouldn’t be complaining if you pulled two mint charizards unlimited. Why open both

Shadowless packs are inherently no guarantee. Ignorance is not a reasonable defence. Now you know though.

short crimp can too.

Atleast you got two heavy packs out of it. But the short crimps, him not answering questions, and the slightly sketchy listing should all be red flags. Just a lesson learned in my opinion, I don’t think the seller was completely out of line here.

But again — at least they were unweighed. I wouldn’t recommend buying loose packs from anyone but a reputable source. Shadowless packs would need to be confirmed shadowless by this reputable source

Personally I would have just skipped out on the auction since the description doesn’t indicate whether or not the pack actually contains shadowless cards, and since the seller doesn’t respond to questions(red flag), you can’t find out from them whether or not they’re confirmed shadowless or not, so essentially these packs were just a gamble

It’s an unfortunate situation but I’d say just take it on the chin and next time buy from sellers that communicate info about their items better

Short crimps can contain shadowless too.

Short crimp pack can contain shadowless or unlimited cards. Hopefully this is a learning experience. www.elitefourum.com/t/identifying-shadowless-unlimited-base-set-boxes-packs/16993/1

Well at least you are making some money back with the affiliate link you dropped in here.

Not being ignorant… in regards to opening two packs, I let both my sons open them at the same time, unfortunately. I also sent the seller two messages asking about the title and whether they were shadowless packs he/she could confirm or not. One was a first message from the listing itself, the other in response to an out of the blue message they sent me on a previous lot for the same item I didn’t win. He said he noticed that I bid on the item and that he’d be listing more soon…

So I asked twice, still it’s a misleading listing in my opinion. But I see the fine print with the ‘cover’ wording, unfortunately if it comes to that and ebay stands by it then so be it. I’m an honest guy and will accept the decision… I don’t really care to fight online with them.

The only reason I went ahead with the bids was because of their 100% rating and recent sales of the same item without negative reviews (yet). I guess there’s never any way to be sure… this is part of the reason I tread lightly on ebay versus other platforms.

I think the seller was probably listing them with some level of sincerity but either they were aware of the misleading titles and deliberately omitted any mention of “possible” etc. or they didn’t realize it. If it was overlooked they should accept the return but again, I have to wait to see how eBay judges it.

No worries no offense taken. @jcincy101 as well, I would suck it up to lesson learned as well if I had overlooked something about it being a possible shadowless pack or other clarification. I asked about them and got no responses but regardless of that, they are not selling a pack cover, they sold a pack itself.

Have you really opened an eBay case for this, after you opened the packs and pulled TWO holos? If the seller was an E4 member and wanted you blacklisted after this, then it would likely happen.

I wasn’t saying ignorance due to opening two packs. I was saying ignorance of the fact that a “shadowless booster pack” does not always contain shadowless cards.

Shadowless booster pack life hack.

Short crimp = very low chance of shadowless cards.

Long crimp = very high chance of shadowless cards.

All packs can be “potentially” shadowless never say never with all the WOTC errors
