Two cards that I always wish were holo. Light Dragonair is so beautiful, I really really wish it got the holo treatment. Erika’s Dragonair got it, this one deserved some love too. Technically cheating on the second one as 014/p is holo BUT it’s in Japanese and there’s no English holo version of it afaik so I’m counting it.

Haha yeah, I mentioned the lottery promo 014/p but I meant in English since we only got the non-holo version in Expedition. Definitely still counts as a holo but I’d have loved to also get a set card version of it so it’s easier to get a copy of haha. Beautiful card though, I’d love to own a copy one day!

Are there any cards that are holo in english but not in Japanese? I’m trying to think of one but I can’t. It’s always a downgrade when it comes to english.

Omastar in every set featuring Kabutops it’s counterpart. It’s a shame Omastar was one of the original fossils and didn’t even get a Holo in any wotc set

There are some, but definitely not a lot. One that comes to mind is the Pokémon Rumble/Melee set. Some of those were holofoil in English, but all non-Holo in Japanese.
And a few SM era Pikachu cards were Holofoil in English and non-Holo in Japanese as well: 337/SM-P & SM170 Detective Pikachu promos; 367/SM-P and SM227 Pikachu promos; etc.

Maybe an unpopular opinion here, but I think some artworks profit from being non-holo, and this is one of them. Holofoil can take away a lot of detail in the artwork. Like I’m not sure if you’d be able to appreciate the sun glare and the sky as good if it’d be printed on holofoil. It’s a stunning card the way it is still.
