No 86 fleer Jordan?
It all began two years ago, when I started exactly in New York one evening while I was alone on the 129th floor of the Central Park Tower asking myself this question: “Marco, but what are the best objects that a private individual can have? What is the real n .1? The real Mt. Rushmore?”
Nah, I think a Mount Rushmore should have some variety and Base Zard/Black Lotus are probably the two most iconic TCG cards of all time. Mantle and Wagner are the most well-known baseball cards, and I think the Gretzky has more going for it than the Jordan rookie. Plus hockey is just better than basketball.
Might be interesting to think about the 5 INDIVIDUAL cards (as in specific copies of cards)

There are three types of people in the world, those who can count, and those who can’t.

now we’re talkin
Not talking about my personal favorite cards but the in my opinion most important cards, I’d say:
TCG in general:
- (Alpha) Black Lotus
- (1st Ed) Base Charizard
- (1st Ed) LOB Blue Eyes White Dragon
- either Illustrator Pikachu or another card of the Power Nine.
Pokémon:
- Base Charizard
- Illustrator Pikachu
- Neo Genesis Lugia
- Gold Star Rayquaza
My personal Mt. Rushmore of Pokemon cards would probably be Jungle Pikachu, Base Set Dratini, Holographic Base Set Flareon, and Japanese Base Set Kakuna simply because all four have their own core memories that make up some of the early foundations of my Pokemon card collecting.
- Jungle Pikachu - My very first Pikachu card
- Base Set Dratini - My very first Pokemon card in general
- Base Set Holographic Flareon - The first cherished card I ever lost (my cousin stole it and I’m still mad at him about it 20+ years later)
- Japanese Base Set Kakuna - My first Japanese Pokemon card
Had to double check this wasn’t the unpopular opinions thread.
