Need help - Charizard State Championships Acrylic Trophy

Hi all,

I was wondering if there are any trophy buffs out there that can give me a bit more background on this acrylic Charizard trophy from the 2004-2005 state championships.

Does anyone know:

How many were awarded in total?
Were they just awarded to the state championship winners or to runners up?
How many state championships were there in total that year? As I understand it there wasn’t one per state of the US, but correct me if I am wrong.
Any other info on release and distribution?

These were only awarded to 1st - I played back then.
There were far fewer than 50 state championships in the US in those years - unsure if this trophy was given out at international events. If you want a best guess, search Pokegym for “2005 State Championship” and start counting states. Players often made results threads and TOs would make announcement threads.
