So I made a large submission to PSA- around 43 Japanese Base Set No Rarity cards for my collection. Included in that was a Charizard along with all of the other base set holos.
They all came back without slabs.
I called PSA and explained the situation and the nice lady on the phone told me to next time not submit the Venusaur with the rest of them (now listen, I know they don’t grade the Venu & Raichu, but I figured I’d give it a shot anyway? Shooters gon’ shoot.) – So maybe be throwing in the Venusaur got the grader confused or something for whatever reason- Ok thats fine, whatever-- BUT
After she told me this- I asked if I can 100% get them graded if I submit without the Venusaur, and the response I got was " I cannot give you a definitive answer on this, I am only…" customer support? Or sales? Something along those lines.
Shortly after this, a friend of mine sent in 3 no rarity holos, and they all got graded (2 blastoise and 2 gyarados’)- No problems.
So my question to you, have you had troubles like this with PSA in the past? Should I waste more time trying to grade them again? I’m kind’ve lost at the moment on what to do next. I’ve already wasted lots of time on this- and frankly it’s starting to make my blood boil with PSA.
Even if you had sent in 40 legit Base cards along side 5 fakes, 2 recoloured, 1 error and 1 cut in half card. They should have graded the legitimate 40 cards as there is no reason not too. Looks like they haven’t even checked your order. I wouldn’t be happy with that at all.
Especially say if you didn’t know that PSA didn’t grade the Venusaur and Raichu. I’m guessing many new Japanese submitters could find themselves a bit annoyed/disbelief that PSA won’t grade those cards. It would make me not trust them as authenticators.
How long will it take PSA to correct this oversight is anyone’s guess but it has to happen. Imagine if a few MTG Alpha cards were suddenly exempt from grading.
