I have a few. Pm me your discord.
@pbmagnet4, All buy threads must list a price. Please update your post accordingly or it risks being removed!
Thank you! I listed my price limit if thats ok.
@pbmagnet4, you might have a hard time sourcing one from existing owners at that price… but should probably follow along with monthly PWCC auctions as some non-named Neo numbered trophies have sold for very reasonable prices at auction recently. The earlier trophies would be out of reach price-wise.
A PSA 8 University Magikarp will be in the PWCC June block later this month. It may fall into your price range !
Yeah 20k won’t even get a ripped corner I’m afraid, but still good luck with the hunt
Appreciate the heads up! I saw a No. 2 Neo go for a reasonable price recently. Ill continue to keep an eye out

I am not sure if you have a preference for named copy vs no name, but this will be in July PWCC:

It’s crazy how much the trophys are going for theese days. Makes me kind of having a love/hate relationship with them
I actually like the no name. Wish me luck
Welp. Should have known it would have gone just over $20k. I played myself. F
Oh darn. I was hoping you had won.
Only just saw this thread. I won that card, and I bid quite a bit more than I won it for. This isn’t intended to be a flex on OP or anything I just wanted to share the details
congrats, great card!
Not gonna lie, this hurt me
Congrats tho! That $470 made all the difference.
I bid $26,666 fwiw and I personally value it closer to $30k. I am not sure why there wasn’t much interest. The confidence I had in a low bid on my side was due to it only being $13k about 3 minutes before auction.
It’s an old back trophy card, with only supposed 9 copies in the male version of the tropical mega battle tournament for 2nd place. I don’t really get why it went for so cheap. There’s only 1 other PSA graded version (albeit, it seems like quite a few of these are graded with the wrong label including this one) from that particular year. I was just commenting on how overvalued I think M Sachiko EX is at $20k and this is the perfect example in my mind. 1/9, old back, BGS 9… vs 1/100 modern card… How in the world is that the same value? I have no idea, but to each their own!
@pbmagnet4 I wish you nothing but the best in finding a copy. I’m ecstatic to own one myself and honored to have learned from so many people on this forum. I actually didn’t know anyone in e4 was bidding on it until someone told me you were talking about it in the discord. All the best in your hunt! if I ever happen to see another one, I’ll be sure to send it your way

BTW, feel free for anyone that knows more to correct me if I’m wrong, but my conclusion is that this is a 2000 World Challenge Tropical Mega Battle No. 2 trainer.
Not trying to say you overpaid or anything, but the 9 copies awarded refers to named copies which were awarded at the event. This is an unnamed extra copy.
There are 9 No. 2 Boy Trainer from the 2000 WC TMB, yes. But most people would not consider there to be 9 total of this style card since there are other tournaments which, while they have the text differences, the art is the same. For example there may be 6 No. 1 Trainer World Champion full art 2019, but the distribution of cards with that art is 30 something iirc. Likewise there are a total of 51 No. 2 Boy Trainer old back 2000-2001 and 51 No. 2 Boy Trainer E-reader 2002.
The main cards to buck this trend of people referring to shared artwork as the total distribution are the '97 and.'98 Pikachus because people differentiate based on text and distribution. If you look at the 2013 No. 2 Pika on PWCC it says pop 1 as psa 9. Which sure is technically true. But most people would consider the half art champion cards in terms of total distribution of which there are other No. 2 graded in different years. It’s possible that perspective could change such as with the early Pikas where the first tournament has a clear value difference despite the same art used for the second and third tournaments.
Like August mentioned, the ones awarded to winners have the winner’s name and region printed on the card, and would have come with a trophy case or folder. We know ones without name were used at physical tournament locations to show competitors what the winning cards looked like which is probably where the No name copies come from. The winning ones had to be mailed to the winner after name was printed on.
Regardless considering a PSA 7 No Name No. 2 sold for $19k on PWCC a few months ago I think you got a good deal and plenty of people prefer the versions without name.
I am not sure how much studying you had to do to find this information out, but it is greatly appreciated!
