Original MSRP - Bear Walker Skateboards from Worlds

So this will be my first year attending Worlds and I have a quick question for those of you who have recently attended Worlds in Yokohama and London.

How much do the Bear Walker Skateboards sell for at the Pokemon Center?

I’m hoping to get one and hopefully they don’t all sell out in the first hour of the first day. My wishful thinking is that they’ll spread the inventory out so that the entire Pokemon Center doesn’t sell out on day 1.

Just curious to hear what they sold for at London and Yokohama and if they had limits on them (like 1 per person or whatnot).

Regular Bearwalker boards are $249.99 so I’m guessing it will be similar if not exactly that. I would like to think it would be 1 per person or at the very least 2 max per person as the one on the website is a limit of 2. I honestly don’t know but this is my best educated guess. :person_shrugging:

For Yokohama Worlds 2023, the skateboard deck retailed at 49,500円

Do not expect to get these unless your booking is very early any day

At London, I left with multiple boards and they were available the whole time. At Yokohama I didn’t even see a board.

You can even see the price difference of what’s available today

$300USD

$780USD

doesn’t really make sense tbh, but that’s how it is. Most likely, this year will be more similar to Yokohama than London because this was one of the few items you could really sell at a premium

Got it, thanks for that! I’d like to have it as a display piece as it ties perfectly for me being born and raised in Hawaii. I was originally hoping they’d do a surfboard with this year’s Worlds logo, but the skate board will do if I can get one🤞

And to let you guys know, the boards and the ukuleles sold out in the first 10min… you got to be in line at the door at 8:00 a.m. and if you’re not in the front of the line you’re not getting one. There only releasing 20 a day wed-sun.

Im at Honolulu Pokémon world championship, i bought a bear walker pikachu board for $350.00 retail. Im about to put it on ebay for 750. I’m going back tomorrow, what should I buy that will be best to resell?

Have you heard of these things called Pokemon cards? Ive heard on the youtube that you can get those and sell them online if you are looking to immediately flip things. Very generous of you to only flip for over double retail by day 2.

I dont know much about the cards, im learning. I’m in a unique situation. I work in the kitchen of the convention center in Honolulu. I arrive before the doors open to the public. I hooked the event staff up with sandwiches in exchange They let me shop before the doors open. I’m not trying to be a douche and just stick it to everybody here. I don’t know much about Pokemon but I’m in a unique situation that I may be able to help some people out. I looked online and I seen that they’re selling these boards for like $1500 which I think is outrageous. I think if I am buy something that other people is unable to buy I think it’s worth double. I believe that’s fair. I’m not trying to get rich here but if I can make a little money and help some people out that are needing some stuff from this Pokemon World Tour 2024 everyone’s happy

Its ok that we agree to disagree. Its cool that everyone is helping eachother out but from someone who isnt there and has to rely on online marketplaces it kinda sucks to hear that there are backdoor deals for anyone, let alone those who are looking to make some money on the side flipping merch, while there are plenty of people there who cant get souvenirs that they travelled for. Im not blaming you for societies ways and one person cant fight the tide of dealers who are doing the same thing.

Anyways, I welcome you onto the forum and hope you are able to check out the cards and hobby more. It has a lot of different parts and hopefully you can find something that appeals to you.

Wow you lucky bugga! Haha I’m in line now. We’ll see how it goes. Yesterday I was in the first time slot and it sold pretty quick since they allocated inventory for other days

The Pikachu character is drawing me in, and seeing how many people are here and how the crowds are going nuts. There is gotta be something awesome here. I know a lot of people has traveled far and not everybody has good time slots to get the items they want. If I can help somebody out let me know, I’m not going to charge you double if I don’t have to put it on eBay if I can just grab it for someone I’m sure we can figure out a fair price for my time. let me know… the stuff is going fast. The plushies, ukuleles and the skateboards are going very fast. Pokemon staff told me there will be a allocation of boards and ukuleles everyday. If I can be assistance let me know… have fun guys and stop by the kitchen for good food :yum::grin:

I do not think they’re going to let me buy more than one skateboard though. They didn’t like the sandwiches that much…

Maybe just leave the items for people that actually want them?
Congrats, you made $100 after paying the 15% effective eBay fee and whatever shipping is to ship a huge item like a skate board across the Pacific Ocean.

@Roger808

Welcome to e4! You are what’s called a “scalper” in the Pokemon world. These are opportunistic buyers who purchase retail goods and relist them for high prices on secondary platforms. Nobody likes scalpers or that type of behavior.

My recommendation is to stop being like this. Let people who actually want the merchandise purchase it. You aren’t helping anyone but yourself.

My opinion is that if you get the opportunity to buy the board, do it and make a few bucks. I don’t know your situation so I can’t judge. But let’s not pretend we are doing it for anything other than to make some money.

Basically every skateboard will end up in the hands of people who will want to flip them. Hard to say no to a free paycheck. Ultimately it’s on TPCI as to how to properly distribute them.

But yeah, I don’t think you’ll find many tips here on how to maximize the paycheck since people will either be repelled by the idea or are already doing it themselves and don’t need the competition

Also I’ll actually give you advice. Historically the price of all the items crashes after the event is over and the hype wears down. Sell your stuff as soon as possible for as much as anyone is willing to pay. If I were you I’d go on ebay right now and undercut the whole market to sell asap
