I was checking to see whether any original pokemon card art was for sale and after a good while looking none were found. Is original art owned by Pokemon and that is why there is none for sale? In magic there is a ton of original art for sale and artists often list their art on ebay as soon as a set is released.

I believe it’s owned by Pokemon. I remember watching a video a while back and it was about Illustrators who work for Pokemon and it was saying that when they sign their contracts it details that they are only allowed to work for Pokemon and that all of their illustrations are then owned by Pokemon also. I’ve tried to find the video so i could link it but I can’t seem to find it now, so i may not be remembering it exactly correctly.
