Pack Weighing: Booster vs Blister

Do you think blister packs are a safer buy than booster packs in the context of pack weighing?

I feel like the additional packaging might make blisters harder to reliably weigh, but I wanted to hear your thoughts.

Booster pack weighing is deceitful, dishonest and harmful to the Pokemon card collecting hobby as a whole.

You shouldn’t be doing it at all.

I ask as a paranoid buyer. I’m not weighing packs myself.

I just re-read your post and I should have realised that. Sorry I just woke up.

Loose booster packs are lays gonna be easier for someone to weigh than a blister pack. The packing weight would be pretty consistent but more things allows more weight variation. It still wouldn’t stop someone from weighing it, however.

I believe blisters are safer because the average weigher has a small pocket scale and a limited amount of time. Furthermore, there’s more math and variance to take into account with blisters. Most ne’er-do-wells aren’t so academic.

Only multi-packs are rather safe, but exceptions exist.

The packs need to come from the same place and the same batches to be able to weigh them. Coming from someone who used to weigh packs constantly. But, nearly stopped now because of the new English sets being unable to be weighed. Plus it really isn’t worth the money. Singles will always be cheaper. I weighed some old school WOTC Team Rocket packs that I found at the flea market about a year ago. A few of the heaviest packs didn’t even have holofoils in them. If a booster box is Factory Sealed, then you have nothing to worry about with it being searched. Don’t bother searching Blisters. Tons of different weights even at the same stores. Not really worth anyones time anymore.
