"PCA" Grading Scale (French Company)

Looking for a French/European collector who is very familiar with PCA Grading. I see on their website that their grading scale is… unique.

10+ - “Collector”
10 - Gem Mint
9.5 - Mint
9 - Near Mint
8 - Excellent - Near Mint
7 - Excellent

etc.

There is a niche card that I need for my collection and the only available copy is a PCA 9 “Near Mint” selling from France. I would be interested in buying it, cracking the slab, and sending it in to PSA.

My question is: How does PCA match up with PSA’s grading scale? Would this PCA 9 Near Mint be equivalent to a PSA 7 Near Mint? Or should I expect higher/lower?

Thanks so much!

@murcielago Would be a good person to ask.

The problem is that they changed their grading standards several times.
For exemple I received psa 10 on some of my pca 9.5 and also knows that some of my pca 10+ could never be psa 10.

It might be easier to tell knowing which card we are talking about, and when it has been graded.

Thanks so much, @murcielago. I decided to pass on the auction after asking the seller in French to see the backside of the card.

The hunt continues!
