I played before I collected seriously! Now, part of my collection is old decks from the Base-Fossil through 2010 formats. 2017 was my last competitive year. I’ve wanted to play standard competitively again since then, but the time to dedicate is hard to come by.
This is probably not the response you’re looking for, but… I would love to play neo series TCG format. Problem is, those cards at 20 years out of vogue, there’s no viable online way to play them, and finding people around you to play that format is really, really hard. Modern cards have experienced severe power creep, and the format is very different from what it once was.
Yes, legit and unique replies which included “Good job”, “Feels”, “Nice!” and let’s not forget “Very nice”. Highly evocative.
The rules are very clear

We used to play with regular sleeves but lately we prefer to play with energies and cheap black-white/colored copies of the cards glued on top, or some even buy proxies to replace them.
That’s not true, you have tcgone.com to play all vintage formats, or tabletop simulator also is a god tier option as well to play any board/card game you want with friends
Oh snap! Thanks for calling this out man, i’m really excited. FYI, it appears the URL is actually: tcgone.net, and you need to make an account to use it. Didn’t know this site existed - thanks again
It amuses me that ‘playing pokemon cards’ is on a forum about pokemon cards, in the anything else catagory. AND RIGHTLY SO, Pokemon cards belong in bank vaults not being destroyed or WORSE CREASED by children.
Firstly sorry if I put it in the wrong category.
I collect cards and even do have a couple in the bank volt.
But I also collect binders of the sets that aren’t in mint condition, I remember playing the game back in the day, I don’t like playing modern, there are plenty of cheap old cards that if graded might only come back a PSA6 that you could sleeve and play with them. Why not.
You can’t enjoy collecting cards worth tens of thousands of dollars as well as perhaps playing a game with old cards once in a while.
