Hey, there!

Just wanted to let you know that The Wand Company has announced the release of a pokeball replica on 27th February 2021:

It’s going to be sooooooo difficult to focus on just TCG this February.

25th anniversary getting closer

Looks cool, but after reading the last two FAQ I’m a bit disappointed.

I wanted to throw it to try and catch my neighbor’s cat. :sob:

In all seriousness though, it would have been nice if it could be opened.

It does look like a nice display piece, though. (As it’s designed to be.)

It was super cool, except for what Quuador said essentially, and also:

The ball uses 3 x AAA alkaline batteries. The base uses 3 x AA alkaline batteries. Batteries are included and are pre-installed inside the ball and the base. The user manual contains instructions for replacing the batteries.

Kind of really sucky that in this modern age you have to swap batteries and you can’t just plug it into the wall. I know it’s a display piece but it would be awesome if it had wireless charging with the base, and the base can be plugged in via Micro USB or USB C.

Still looking forward to seeing it though!

Having cables hang off of your display pieces generally isn’t as aesthetic

Oooh that’s such a cool piece! I love the display box. I wouldn’t mind the batteries, makes displaying it much less of a hassle, especially if you want to put it in a case like a Detolf. Thanks for sharing!

Wow that’s awesome! So much good stuff coming out

I feel your pain, I too wanted to catch my neighbors cat

A very nice display piece. Would be nice if they released the other pokeballs too but that would hurt the wallet lol

You just need one cable to be in the back of the base, which would not be when you’re displaying it, unless you’re displaying it on a podium at all angles. I’m guessing most people would just display it on their desk. The pokeball would have 0 cables because it’s wirelessly charged. Of course, that’s quite high tech so maybe at the very least have someway to plug it into the wall and not have any batteries used, similar to this lamp made in 2016: www.vat19.com/item/super-mario-bros-question-block-light . You CAN use batteries but you don’t have to.

What I am seeing with this display piece requiring 5 batteries in total for both the base and the pokeball is that you would have it displayed somewhere, months later it’ll run out of batteries and then the acid will soon leak into the compartments.

Got some. Thanks for posting.

The lack of the ability to open ruins it for me tbh. The pokeball design on the outside is pretty simple so if its just that but metal, itll look nice but not really have that wow factor. Being able to press the button and open up the pokeball will make it truly feel like a pokeball to me.

Where are you going to hide your drugs if you can’t open it?

In all seriousness, cool toy. I want one

For something promoted as a luxury collectable, you’d think it would a little better than what it is .
Not for me, just seems like more clutter for my desk.

Again, this is just my opinion but these are a way better desk display

I just wish they made more designs

It’s like $100, I wouldn’t call it a luxury collectable.

They should have done a nicer premium version, maybe with silver and gold

I think they are releasing the other pokeballs throughout the year. It could get quite pricey.

I agree with the ones that said that it would be much cooler if it opened. We won’t be able to catch our neighbour’s cat after all

Great, already ordered one! Thanks for posting, would´ve completely missed otherwise.

You’re welcome!

I’ll make a preorder soon, cheers!

Who knows? Perhaps if/when they release a GS ball?
