It was super cool, except for what Quuador said essentially, and also:
The ball uses 3 x AAA alkaline batteries. The base uses 3 x AA alkaline batteries. Batteries are included and are pre-installed inside the ball and the base. The user manual contains instructions for replacing the batteries.
Kind of really sucky that in this modern age you have to swap batteries and you can’t just plug it into the wall. I know it’s a display piece but it would be awesome if it had wireless charging with the base, and the base can be plugged in via Micro USB or USB C.
Oooh that’s such a cool piece! I love the display box. I wouldn’t mind the batteries, makes displaying it much less of a hassle, especially if you want to put it in a case like a Detolf. Thanks for sharing!
You just need one cable to be in the back of the base, which would not be when you’re displaying it, unless you’re displaying it on a podium at all angles. I’m guessing most people would just display it on their desk. The pokeball would have 0 cables because it’s wirelessly charged. Of course, that’s quite high tech so maybe at the very least have someway to plug it into the wall and not have any batteries used, similar to this lamp made in 2016: www.vat19.com/item/super-mario-bros-question-block-light . You CAN use batteries but you don’t have to.
What I am seeing with this display piece requiring 5 batteries in total for both the base and the pokeball is that you would have it displayed somewhere, months later it’ll run out of batteries and then the acid will soon leak into the compartments.
The lack of the ability to open ruins it for me tbh. The pokeball design on the outside is pretty simple so if its just that but metal, itll look nice but not really have that wow factor. Being able to press the button and open up the pokeball will make it truly feel like a pokeball to me.
For something promoted as a luxury collectable, you’d think it would a little better than what it is .
Not for me, just seems like more clutter for my desk.
