Pokekyun Sylveon EX Corrected Error

It seems like recently PSA has decided to grade the corrected version of Sylveon EX from the pokekyun collection.

In the most recent PSA Magazine there is a nice blurb write up on this card.

The PokéKyun Collection (and its English counterpart, Radiant Collection) specializes in bold, full-card foil patterns of stars, snowflakes, hearts and other shapes. This set famously included a Full Art Flareon card that showed it alongside its fellow original Eeveelutions - Vaporeon and Jolteon - for the very first time on a TCG card. But this Sylveon EX card is the true standout from the set; not only does it feature Sylveon and Eevee on the same card, but it also has a highly rare “Corrected” variant. On several copies of this card, Sylveon’s Precious Ribbon attack has a white circle next to it, where there should be an additional Energy symbol. It’s an easy error to miss due to its placement on top of Sylveon’s light-colored body. This error was eventually corrected, and the corrected version stands as perhaps the rarest and most collectible Sylveon card on the market.

There are various theories as to where the corrected version originates, but it is most likely that the corrected versions were reprinted in a product that required a new printing of PokéKyun anyway, Later, there was a special product that contained two PokéKyun booster packs and a mini binder. This was separate from the initial long boxes in which the Pokékyun Collection was first released. It is strongly believed that the corrected print could only be found in these subsequent products, making them much harder to find. PSA is now recognizing both the error and corrected version of this card, which will be denoted on labels effective immediately

To say that a general reprinted card as PSA is suggesting, is worth upwards of 10k is an insane thought.

Now, I can not remember where this information was disclosed to me, but back in 2018-2019, I was confident that the only way to obtain this card was to mail in the error to the pokemon company and you would receive the corrected version.

I believe the PSA magazine is incorrect in their research of the origin of this card.

I’d love to hear anyone elses opinions of this!

I feel like @sylveonthebeach had a hand in this. I don’t know where the corrected one comes from but I know I always check for it when I see the card

It seems extremely rare

Just to add to this.
I found a blog post of someone opening this binder with the two pokekyun packs (suggested by PSA to be the origin of the corrected variant) and pulling the sylveon.
It is not the corrected error.

Insane, a PSA 9 sold for $90 years ago

i used to send best offers on copies no more than 75$ and never won one lol. That was back in the day where the supply of the corrected versions were more common. I cant explain why that was back then. Perhaps it was because the owners who were aware of them were already established on ebay.

These are all hypotheses. Corrected cards are usually obtainable in one of two ways: reprints of the product or manufacturer recalls. Typically Pokemon and other manufacturers, such as Konami and Bandai, are pretty good about publishing statements about recalls or simply recognizing the error (i.e Chandelure VMAX, OP07 Luffy, Dark Paladin Incorrect Artwork). This seems to not have happened in this case. At least no one has been able to find anything so far, which is odd if the manufacturer is going to replace the card for anyone with an error.

Think about this way - The card doesn’t affect gameplay and is very minor in terms of how it affects the look of the card (most people can’t even find it), so why would Pokemon spend time and money printing sheets of just Sylveon EX, when they could reprint the whole set? This is what they did with Chandelure. Most recalls are pretty major - like Blaine’s Charizard having the wrong energy symbol or Rainbow Dragon having the wrong artwork altogether. These factors combined are what led me to believe it was obtainable in a different / later printing of Pokékyun.

It couldn’t be in booster boxes or the special boxes as those came first, but the mini binder two-packs have different inserts which could signify a separate printing. It could also come from single packs from the Pokemon Center. The blog mentioned seems to debunk the idea of them coming from the binder set, but IMO that doesn’t disprove it. Some people say you can pull both types of Sylveon VMAX from the first wave of Eevee Heroes boxes - those with extra sparkles in the eyes and those without. Ultimately, no one has pulled one on camera or found any statement of recall, so again, this is all a hypothesis until we have something concrete. We obviously know, regardless of how it could have been obtained, that it is much more scarce than the error version. I hope this is helpful!
