Hiya Dear forum members!
So let me start with a small introduction! Back when I was young I absolutely loved the Pokemon franchise, as most of you obviously. I clearly remember seeing the very first starters in some Nintendo magazine just before Red/Blue got released in Japan, the excitement was unreal! So it all started with the games/anime and then the cards. Collecting/trading on the playground just brings back so many great memories.
Anyway less than a year ago, with all the Pokemon hype, I decided to pull out the old collection and goodies from the attic. Just for fun and nostalgia. After seeing and holding the cards again I just felt the urge to fulfill and complete my childhood sets.
One thing led to another and doing some digging and searching around the web got me to this board. Here I got introduced with a new phenomenon; PSA graded cards. Never seen anything like it, fell in love with it straight away. The idea of a childhood card being forever sealed and safe within a case including a serial number/quality assessment was astounding. So I did some lurking and reading regarding the whole subject, and after seeing some of your amazing collections I decided to give it a shot myself.
In submitting a small batch I got my first ever 10 in the form of a Skyridge crystal Charizard and Golem. When they arrived and I got a hold of them in a case, it completely blew my mind. This is where I decided I wanted more and start collecting, I was hooked.
Somehow I’m naturally drawn towards the eserie cards. Weird because when I was a kid I remember buying a few packs and I didn’t like the artwork whatsoever. These were also the last cards before quitting. Anyway not to bore you any further here are some of my goals and current cards.
The eserie goals; Expedition Base/Aquapolis/Skyridge in complete gem condition! I know, its going to be insanely hard especially because I just started. But ohwell I might as well give it a shot. Doing them in a 9/10 mixture is more realistic but somehow I’m a bit neurotic and it has to be done in 10 Haha. I’m putting a little more emphasis on Skyridge!
The Skyridge attempt will be all Holo’s, Rares/Uncommon/Common, Reverse Holo rares and boxtoppers! For Expedition and Aquapolis it will be all Holo’s and rares.
