Hard to say from one single pic but looks fake

I’m not a fan of the wrinkling on the right side of the seal line – that’s more than I’ve ever seen, although a little bit is normal. The right side also seems to have a significant amount of excess shrinkwrap; more than is typical. If this was the only photo I had of the box, I wouldn’t buy it. Ask for more photos and provenance.

@calsky, I don’t even own a base set box but that poke ball tells me all I need to know. That’s definitely fake.

What about the pokeball ? i thought it was impossible to fake these if they have the WOTC logo ?

I’d avoid it personally only chance it has is if it’s being opened anyways for a break. Its ugly and suspicious

Doesn’t look great to me. The seal on the wrap is a bit suspect and as someone said before, providence is key. “Just some guy” on eBay is not ideal unless you know them personally or have bought from them consistently for years and know their stuff is genuine and they can provide details of where it came from that are traceable

That’s not true. In regards to the poke ball it’s a completely different shade of red. Add that to the fact that the Pokémon logo looks off colored too. I wouldn’t touch this thing. When you’re buying something this expensive you really don’t want to take any chances

Is it even worth purchasing if you will be suspicious?

If you want to buy one, I recommend paying market value and buying on eBay or from a reputable seller

100% fake–why is there any doubt from anyone here? Look at Venusaur side. Unbelievably inaccurate. Not even close to looking real.
